Some of the miners seems to have changed stats. I'v been checking Xenon Basic Drilling Beam and XeCl Drilling beam.
It look's like they are change so that all miners have 60s activation time (the XeCL also had incresed tha ore amount from 46 to 48.
Does any one know if the other miners are changed aswell, and if so, what are the new stats???

Wow gg on the stealth nerf, CCP, my Cu Vapor Particle Bores are now 49 ore in 60 seconds as opposed to 48 ore in 48 seconds.
I don't understand what the purpose of the nerf is, really.

Well I haven't checked my Miner 1's after todays patch, but Thursday they were at 52 ore per 60 sec. Of course that is modified by my skills (Miner lvl 4 and Astrogeology lvl 3). ------------------------------------- Interm-CEO for EVE Marshals http://www.EVEMarshals.com |

I suppose it was either to make them easier to compare or it's their way to make the mining skill work on loots...
It was probably to slow us down a little from making Isk too fast!
Maybe all of the above... go figure!

the miners with durations less than 60 seconds didnt work right anyway .. the shorter duration didnt equate into any extra ore, just a smaller amount of ore more often (but same overall) they should now work much more consistantly ..
once upon a time in beta miner1's had a 10 sec duration .. they upped it to 60 for *all* miners to cut the server load from mining by what 85%? my guess is the random-item generator (or item person .. but I cant think one person just sits making them all day?) didnt realize the duration wasnt a valid stat to change and thus set the looted ones faster .. it didnt work and caused problems so now they are set correctly to 60 seconds (and some had there mining amount/range improved to compensate) . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Unfortunately Character Creation is the only place to aquire Astrogeology :/ (Yeah I know you hired me just for my mining skills Commissar :P)
Anyway to check to the modified stats of you lasers go to you control panels the the bottom of the screen. Right-click on the laser you wish to know about and show info. I'm getting 63 ore per 60 sec with XeCl's. Hope this helps out a little. ------------------------------------- Interm-CEO for EVE Marshals http://www.EVEMarshals.com |

The purpose of "The Nerf" is as follows -
Code a huge program, especially one as complicated as a Massive Multiplayer Space Simulation w/ a True Player Driven Economy, takes billions of 0's and 1's. These 0's and 1's are tied together through relational databases tied to huge chunks of C code tied and then filtered through some video and sound drivers so you can tell what's going on.
The problem is, when you change a 0 to a 1, or vice versa, in one part of the code, the change inherently changes another part of the code through relationships, even though the new-relationship-based-changes brought about due to the initial change were never imagined, the un-seen change still takes place.
However it could be taken deeper that one dev made the change to mining lasers, only to rile you up and make you Think there was a conspiracy against you to slow down the speed in which you mine ore. The truth however being that it was caused by a stray atom of dark matter travelling near the speed of light slamming into the hard drive of the server containing the hard-code for the mining lasers. This caused the hard drive to change the code on the platter from 0110000 to 011110, thereby changing the timing of your laser from 48 seconds to 60 seconds.
Or, it could be that you are simply imagining the entire operation and you are truly a very simple 6th-dimensional rock floating in 10th-dimensional space have a very very bad dream.

It is just my opinion about such things, but it seems the miners were nerfed for no good reason that is apparent. If a miner-x can pull 48 units in 48 secs, then the same device should be able to pull 60 untins in 60 secs - not 49. I don't see how changing the duration from 48 to 60 seconds for "comparison" is not a nerf. seems the device has been severely downgraded. Those that had the better miners have lost their advantage.
