Spank YouLater	Posted - 2008.05.15 16:38:00 - [1] Hi there o/ , so wondering what tanks sentrys best for gallente - Mrym ? Brutix ? Thorax ? Vexor ? Now the Mrym and vexor i can see being a problem with drones (sentry s will own drones right ?) so maybe the brutix//thorax? I've never done low sec killing before but looking at that option now as tbh eve has become tireless so i need something new to enject that umpf back into eve. ((any info is appreciated also a set up or 2 wouldnt go a miss either ;)))

But I've had success ganking solo industrials and frigs on the gate, scooping, and warping out before I took too much of a beating. Are you going to be solo or with a gang?

Boran Tisk Wise Guys Exquisite Malevolence	Posted - 2008.05.15 17:04:00 - [6] Another Setup I had success with earlier in my EVE career was something like this [Thorax, ] 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control I Small Armor Repairer II Armor Thermic Hardener I Armor Kinetic Hardener I 10MN Afterburner I Stasis Webifier I Warp Disruptor I Heavy Electron Blaster I, Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster I, Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster I, Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster I, Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster I, Antimatter Charge M [empty rig slot] [empty rig slot] [empty rig slot] Hammerhead I x5 Cheap, Disposable (You can replace modules with tech II if you want). Obviously you can't tank sentries for any length of a time but the HP buffer and drones generally provide you with enough time to take out industrials on the gate and scoop. Warp off to a ss turn on the SARII and wait.

It does an alright job tanking (Until you run out of cap boosters) so It's not indefinetely sustainable but It can go for quite awhile. If theres one thing I'd recommend it would be to never use tech II drones on the gate because I feel like crying every time I see the sentrys pop aHammerhead II or Ogre II EDIT: The only problem I had with this setup was without a web intelligent Transport pilots would just MWD away from me since I was webless. But if you're in a gang one of your buddies can fit a web and some more disrupters incase they're stabbing. EDIT: One More thing Sentry Guns do more kinetic and thermal damage than EM and explosive so if you're going to fit hardners it's better to fit a Thermal or Kinetic one

At above me; just fill the drone bay with small drones, they get instapopped anyway, and you shouldnt rely on their dps at all. This way you got more and you could 'dronetank' a bit, like somebody said earlier.

Myrmidon 6 x 150mm T2 Rails T2 Scram, T2 Injector, 3 Sensor Boosters Dual Med T2 Rep, T2 Exp Hardner, 2 Plates, T2 Suitcase Rigs: 3 x Trimark Drones: Bay full of displosable T1 light drones, Acolytes are usually the cheapest Permatanks sentries till cap runs out, drop a GSC full of 800's just off grid (1000KM) for refueling Pretty much owns anything trying to get thru apart from shuttles, I've caught Cov Op's and Stealth Bombers with this setup... Set your eft for the following damage profile: 16 em, 16 exp, 28 therm, 28 kin. 360 is enough to tank solo, while 200 is enough to tank in a group, usually.
