Hi, I just changed mission agents and therefore systems...
Is it true that you can warp to a mission which is so far that it drains all your cap and you still haven't enough ? Or did someone zap my cap after I jumped system ?
If the former - which skill enables less cap reduction when warping ?
Cheers

Warp Drive Operation. Without it, most ships will have their cap drained trying to cover a 40 AU warp distance. With it at 4, you can go 120 AU with most ships. Some gates in some systems are as far as 150 AU apart.

Cap use for warping is based on your warp drive operation skill and the mass of your ship. If you add an armor plate to your ship you will use more cap for warping.
And yes it can happen that you run out of cap completely due to warping.

Some ships also use up a disproportionately high amount of cap to jump. Bombers and Recons especially.

Edited by: Baka Lakadaka on 16/05/2008 02:21:44 Warp Drive Operation will reduce the amount of cap used for warping.
Cap skills such as Energy Management will increase the amount of cap you start with. Energy System Operation will reduce your cap recharge time (useful if you use most of your cap wapring and want it back quick -e.g. at the start of the mission, but won't increase your warp distance).
A combination of the above 3 skills will improve things for you. I'd suggest getting these up to level 4 for starters. Bigger ships will also have more cap, but don't rush to bigger ships without the above skills.
PS - some ships just suck at warping and can't get right across big systems, no matter what you do.
