Dear CCP, I noticed that there are some changes to the advanced market, yet there are no notes about such changes in the patch notes. This may not seem critial to some, but to those who make their "living" by trade any such changes to the advanced market will tend to affect them.
The new map: The Good: You guys have moved a step in the right direction by giving the supply / demand information in a nice little text box, thats a good idea. The Bad: The removal of the zoom. Some folks just dont see so good, and its bad for you eyes and back to lean into the monitor to see. Put some zoom back for us old folk.
Initial observations to market mechanics: The Good: I haven't anaylized all the trade goods, but I did notice some had "new" places of supply, but that is an early assessment and needs to be verified after a few days of observation. The Bad: The demand for goods in a given system seems to have the distribution for a good spread over a larger number of stations. Previously if there was a demand for a good there would be a couple of stations that would have a demand. For a dedicated trader this adds a lot of time. CCP please review the mechanics of system demand distribution, because in my opion that wasn't broken before (its not now, but it was better before).
If a developer does read this, and they have additional questions please contact me and I can give specific examples for a specific system and a specific trade good (from some market data tracking I have done over the last week so) Regards, Zuek

We had a fairly extensive "chat" on the subject of the advanced map changes in the patch review forum....
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=6325
There wasn't much scope for getting the recommendations (whatever they chose to do) in for 1077 I assume.... but I guess its an ongoing development effort.

The new market system is brilliant... but I have to agree that the zoom function must be back! And the information about the volume of the goods disappeared. It doesn't really matter, because I know them, but how should a new trader try to figure out the best good to trade or even how much of that he needs to buy?
The idea of the history tab is just great!

Ok So I am not the only one who has noticed tha attributes for each item has gone...
I had only just started trading and enjoying it.. But now I have NO IDEA how much of a particular item my ship can handle.. This is just silly. What is the reason for removing this? Now I am going to have to spend ALOT of time and money figuring out the volumes for each item.. very inefficient... Unless someone can alert me to another way.

Eldariel: Thanks for the link to that thread. It was informative. Its nice to see many of the requested / suggested changes in this patch and I think we will see more improvements on the market map.
Kioky and Ares Acumen: Thanks for the tip on the lack volume of goods. I didnĘt notice that, but I didnĘt have much time in the morning to look into everything. I often forget what the volumes are of goods, but I would expect that to be fixed up pretty quick and like you Kioky I know the volume of the ones I trade frequently.
What concerns me most is what appears to be a change to how the NPC supply / demand is distributed in a given system. In ver.1058 some stations would have a demand for a product and others wouldnĘt, and this seemed to be reset daily, or so. The quantity would vary from day to day, but those stations would have a demand for certain trade goods. Now the supply / demand from a system seems to be more evenly distributed on more of the stations in a system. As a general example: I do a every other day trade run, and the system with demand has 3 stations with a demand but the system has over 15 stations. Now, after this patch, this same system has the same demand (still within the normal daily fluctuation) but instead of 3 stations having the demand 12 of the stations have demand. You could spend an hour or so just going to all the stations to deliver 1 load of goods.
I could be wrong, and if that is the case I apologize. I could have been fooled by a player demand, but I doubt it (why would a player put a bid at the same price as what the NPC is buying it for?). If anyone has noticed that they have to go to many more stations to deliver something that used to go to a few please let me know. Thanks

Right click on the map to change the view so you can see all the stations lined up.
No zoom needed now.

Yes that really helps when looking at demand for the entire region!!!! Currently the supply demand screen is practically useless beyond the constellation. If there are no buyers or sellers within your current constellation you can forget it, one big overlapping blob for the entire region and it no longer shows your own location which doesn't make things any easier for finding a nearby system with a supply or demand. I really hope this is fixed in the next patch because trading is currently pretty much a no go unless you have damn good eyesight and know the region well.
