The crew complement of a Nyx-class mothership runs in the tens of thousands. They're flying cities. I toured one when I was a little kid; my uncle was a machinist on one. I cannot believe that even the revered Admiral Noir could put together an entire crew of people willing to die in the name of his madness. I mean, I'm ex-Federation Navy, and even I would have put a blaster bolt through the reactor core -- or better yet, through his feeping pod -- rather than go along with an atrocity like this. I can't understand why at least some members of the crew didn't try to stop him. Surely someone in all those thousands of people could have found a way to avert this disaster.
The only way I can see something like this happening is if the ship's C&C systems were subverted, and the ship was presenting false data to its crew about what it was doing. This could have been done by the command staff, I suppose. But given Admiral Noir's record, it just doesn't make sense to me. The man just won the bloody Aidonis for his years of work towards preventing something exactly like this. He could have worked to bring about this war a lot sooner and with a far smaller loss of Gallente lives in much subtler ways, but instead he worked for peace. These are not the actions of a man who is going to suddenly lose it and ram a mom into a Caldari station.
No, I'm forced to wonder if the pilots who have suggested that Heth is behind this might be correct. If Heth's forces managed to compromise the security of the Wandering Saint's systems -- which to me is no more unlikely than an Aidonis winner suddenly turning into a monster out for the blood of innocents -- and crashed the Nyx... well, it's alll just too convenient for him, isn't it? Not only does he get an excuse to go to war, he simultaneously takes out one of the leading moderates in the State!
Damned suspicious, if you ask me.
Back on the subject of the Wandering Saint's crew, though... as you light your candles and say your prayers, please remember them. Most of them, if not all, are no more responsible for this atrocity than the thousands dead aboard the Ishukone station, and Gallente innocent died alongside Caldari.
I also call upon those searching the wreckage to keep an eye out for signs of foul play. Black box recordings, suspicious clones, you name it. This smells fishier than a fedo covered in rotten herring.

I am just flying past the damaged part of the station. The extent of damage makes me wonder how many different truths will we hear about the event? You can come up with anything based on the lack of valid evidence and seeing what was going on right after the crash on the site no evidence coming fromit can be valid beyond a doubt. This means that the tragedy will serve those who can fuel the fire of anger among the people of New Eden.
As for the crew... I really hope you're right and they had nothing to do with it. If so they eraned themselves the name their ship was bearing. If not... than even more should we pray for their salvation.

Well, I for one have to wonder what the station was doing, since it clearly had advance notice of the ships approach; they did sound the evacuation alarm a head of the impact; and then someone on board the station dropped the collision deflection fields.
I myself fly a privately held Thanatos Class Carrier, and it can not damage stations, their deflection shields are far stronger then my ship, and the vessel is pushed away from the station, even when coming in on a high energy warp I get bounced off.
Yet we have clearly seen the sublight engines of the Nyx easily keep the vessel on course.
This I believe prooves a conspiracy of those either remotely commanding, or at least on board, the Nyx. And persons unknown on the station itself.
Since we know absolutely no Federation personnel were a board the station, we have to ask who was colluding with any Federation conspirators? And can we say for certain what race any conspirators actually were?

Or it proves taht it is difficult to screw up your automated collision avoidance software and disable your shields unless you really want to? --------------

I advise you to travel to Malkalen and see the wrecked station. It is a little more than 24 hours since the tragedy occured and it seems you cannot grasp the magnitude of it. There are hundreds of thousands dead, bodies and wreckage floating in space and you seek conspiracy were the simplest answer is fighting our swaying hope - the peaple you ask about are presumed DEAD.

I agree, the only way to fully appreciate the horror that has occured here is to see it for yourself. It is amazing the station is still holding together as well as it is at this point. It couldn't of been a cleaner hit.
I worry for those still trapped inside the areas that have been sealed off.

It's true, you really do have to see it for yourself. I live only a few jumps away, so I loaded a hauler full of food (since all other buy orders were exhausted) and headed over there, and after I dropped off my supplies I commenced a tour of the damage. It was horrific.
It reminded me of a time when I was out in the country on Luminaire and I came across an animal that had died; the process of decomposition had swollen its belly to the point where the skin burst and the guts spilled out, leaving a huge empty cavity of a wound. The same is true of this station; it has a vast hole in its belly, kilometers across, and the fires are still burning. I was so horrified that I didn't even notice when a Caldari vigilante locked my hauler and opened fire...
