Hi everybody !
I had some time at work :) and IÆve painted my interpretation of Minmatar slave freeing himself from Amarr lord. Used some Photoshop, a bit of Wacom graphic tablet, two or three cigarettes and one warning to stop fooling around. This was actually the first time a game inspired me to draw something.

Edited by: Demangel on 01/05/2004 00:52:02 LOL Coolness! As an Artist myself I have been tempted many a time to do a few paintings for EVE.
Hmm you know... Maybe someone (Ahem CCP) should start a fan art section for the site?
That would be pretty cool :) Even if half the art submitted was dinky little stick figures, and poorly drawn anime, the few gems like this piece would make it worth while :)
Galaxion > If you drove a car shaped like a thorax women would call you Demangel > Dude... I would call.. Demangel > wait that sounded g@y I bet. Galaxion > Just a bit.

You crazy people... look what you did to my ego... you MWD-ed it. Thank you very much for kind replies. To be sincere I never understood fanartists, thought even they are weird... now look at me painting another one already :) So considering a fanart section IÆm all for it (did I just say that ?) even if itÆs just a forum topic for start because I wouldnÆt want to open new topics and litter allover for each picture I make.
I am especially grateful for the replies of Winterblink whoÆs giving me my weakly dosage of laughs, all Dev Team guys who I also needed to thank for ruining my life by making such a great game and all Amarr people who didnÆt go berserk and put a bounty on my head the minute they saw the piece.
About resolution à IÆm sorry this is the original size I just donÆt have the patience to go up to 3600x2400 pixels, but since the picture is kinda smudgy it can be printed on A4 format or up-scaled without significant loss of detail. By all means do use it however you want.
Thanx again!

@Dirge Lamentor: Yes, it was all done in Photoshop. I removed a couple of layers from the top so you can see that I never know what will pop out when I start...there's a lot of changing of colors, poses and light in the process. I use an old Photoshop 5.5 (yeah I know), airbrush tool with hardness 100, 10% spacing and plenty of undo.

I realise you've had a fair share of positive comments, so this is probably getting boring now, but I had to say that is indeed fantastic work. Truly inspiring!
I love how you've built it up, and there's a great deal of energy flowing through the whole thing. I also think you've gotten the ominous appearance of the Amarrian down very well =)
I'm sure we'll all be looking forward to any more of your creations, and any contributions from other players as well. "A sigh escapes from heaven, and worlds end." |
