Hi, I have got a -0.46 standing with the Gallente Security Status. I wish to do missions for a corp but they will not speak to me:( How do I improve my standing with the above so that the corporation will talk to me?
Is NPC hunting the way to go?

You could try hunting Caldari convoys, that's almost certainly going to be faster than hunting NPCs. Although it will make the Caldari hate you.
I've been wondering this a bit myself - when are we going to get some kind of automatic standing increase system back? My own Gallente standing is -0.52, which is hardly a big deal, but extended indefinitely into the future there will come a time when the Gallente sentry guns are going to start shooting at me, and already no Gallente corp would touch me with a barge pole if I wanted to try running missions for them.
Just what is happening with automatic standing changes? I don't want the "5% per week" system back, but something is obviously necessary, and has been on hold since Christmas as far as I can see.

if i start killing gallente convoys will i get negative status with concord then? Or is it only with gallente?

You can also do missions for a faction that is friendly towards the one you have negative standing with.
For example, Minmatar and Gallente like each other, so if you have negative Gallente standing you can increase that standing by doing important missions for a Minmatar corporation.

For some reason, Concord seem to regard convoy hunting as petty theft - they don't care about it. 
You'll seriously irritate the Gallente though.
