I've run an inspection of your webstie. I must say, that for this level of an operation you are hurting your self by using sub-par industry standard technologies. Your webservers are obviously a version of microsoft server (nt,2000,2003) running IIS version 5. I shutter to think that you use similar systems to run the game server. My suggestion, move to industry leading systems. IBM or Sun microsystems. You need powerful datacenter equipment to run this game like you all invisioned it. 100,000 users is not a reality at this point since the servers have a hard time keeping up with 6,000. Let alone large scale battles, last night 2 fleets met with 30+ ships and all that could be done was lag the other side. This is small in comparision to what should eventually take place. 90% of the game is a massive database, you all need to make sure this database is running as quick and as smoothly as possible. Don't just have one "database guy" you need a database design team. The website at very least needs to be switched to anything but SQL.. there is a reason why large corporations shun microsoft products for essential operations, because its not reliable. My personal prefernce is IBM with DB2, its a great system that is available 99.999% of the time. Can SQL say that? no. Please consider moving to a new platform. If you need contact inforation I can get it to you... I'm not a salesmen, I'm a paying customer trying to suggest improvments.

<pedantic>You realise of course, that SQL is a language, not a product... You're refering to MS SQL Server, as opposed to Oracle offering or MySQL</pedantic>

SQL can say that.
If you don't have an updated and fully patched system, ANY OS is useless and buggy.
I use MySQL, MS SQL and Oracle on 5 different platforms and they are all extremely stable.
Completely changing systems whilst in production is the most absurd thing I've heard in a long time.
Funny post.
