Hi there,
i would like to start a discussion about the pro and contra on this topic. As far as i'm concerned, ships which are not availiable at all are obsolete somehow and just blew the item database. With the Marauder Class introduced, and the massive pricefall for the Navy Issue's, i think it would be nice to have access to those Federate/state issue battleships as well. Of course for a higher price than the Navys and Marauders. Why shoudn't we give players the opportunity to buy such a ship, if he want's to spend 1 or 1.2 billion fe.?
Just a thought

No. Simply becouse this blows the uniqueness of the current existing state and federate ships... And the price is totally unacceptable... knowing that manu hundreds of billions of isk were spend to obtain them from the people that won them.

What about people that used to buy arbalest siege launchers and waste their time training torps? Now that was the lamest abuse that came from CCP.

If i may ask, what purpose does uniqueness serve? Afaik only 2 or 3 of those Megathron State Issues are there in EVE, given out to tournament winners once. So 3 people who own them are very happy subscribers now? Most likely viewing them docked in station every once in a while? Anyways, to adress this problem we could have some really unique ships. A serpentis officer modified one fe.? Would even sound more unique to me than an "issue" which seems pretty much to come from an assembly line.

its something that makes eve special. there are people out there that collect these ships, never planning to fly them. why ruin that?
every item in WoW (to my knowledge) can be gotten by any person. nothing is special there. in eve, we have a whole series of ships that money cant buy.
and think about the legacy they leave. people still remember the gold magnate. its now a staple moment in eve history, the time that ship died.

yeah...The best part is, the alliance that wins the tournament, gets the ship, and awards it's boss, or the bosses favorite pet...what about rest? make them ridiculous expensive, yeah, but make them available

Sorry, but i fully disagree. Eve is already totaly special compared to all the other MMOs out there. Eve is not a collectors game, it's focus is on pvp. If there are people that enjoy collecting items, i'm fine with it. But this can't be a reason to create lots of unique items which only a handfull of persons can aquire.

There was a post from CCP Greyscale when the LP shop was introduced, in which he said he proposed adding the state issue battleships to it for 1 million LP or something like that.
He also said, he was tared and feathered for it.
In other words, won't happen.

When was LP shop introduced? Maybe it's time for reconsideration
PS: I wouldn't mind if those ships' bpc's would drop very very rarely. What bothers me is that they are not in the game at all (no offense there Entity)

If they make a way for these ships to become available, than it's most likely their stats will be toned down. They're too overpowered for general use.

i could see 1 or 2 being introduced every year. nothing where a lot of players could get them no matter what the actual cost. THey should never go the way of CNR and just have thousands of people grind the lp for them because thousands of people will. Might be possible as rewards in the new FW stuff.

Yeah, something like that. Reward for FW or very rare drops of the bpc would be totaly sufficient for me, no need for LP store at all costs!

Less Firepower?
Gallente Battleship Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to large hybrid weapon damage and 2% bonus to the velocity factor of stasis webifiers per level
Marauder Skill Bonus: 7.5% bonus to repair amount of armor repair systems and 7.5% bonus to large hybrid weapon tracking per level
Role Bonus: 100% bonus to large hybrid weapon damage, 100% bonus to range and velocity of tractor beams
In fact, Kronos has exactly the same firepower with a little less tracking speed (if the Marauder skill is not LVL5). Therefore it comes with a +7.5% rep amount bonus. Maybe the Federate is a bit better, but it's minor and depends on the purpose. And of course, would be addressed by price difference.

I might be up for this if the requirements for those ships were on the high side.
This is just an example:
2,000,000 Loyalty points with either the Federation Navy, Federation Intelligence Office, Federal Administration, Senate or The President corporations.
500,000,000 ISK
90 Caldari Navy Admiral Insignia, 90 Amarr Navy Admiral Insignia
1 Megathron Navy Issue
4.0 rep with the Gallente Federation
Basicly, if you made it so grinding for these sorts of ships was on the near fanatical level of aquirement I could see these ships being allowed in the LP store, and it would certainly fit with the new expansion coming out. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

I would like to see a way to get those ships from the factions or new ships of equivalent ability so that the collectors could still have their unique ships but the rest of us could have access. Either rename the ships out there now or come up with a new name for the ones to introduced. I think something on the order of 1 bil LP a one run bpc would be pretty fair. And adding a ship of this level for all fractions would be nice.

I hate it when people are so bloody crazy, they know they won't get something EVER, but they will push.
Face it, No WAY IN HELL this will ever happen.
There are a number of unique items in game that really do not imbalance it. Would this mean that we have to bring back Gold Magnate? And Give everyone access to Opux Yacht? What else? Add Guardian Vexor to the LP store?
No, No, No, No. They are unique Items that do not imbalance the game, with their uniqueness they create a sense of history, sense of belonging. Thats it.

But the kronos has 75Mbit bandwidth and the federate has 125, thus the federate has more firepower. And you chose not to reply to the ecm weakness of the kronos. And the 7.5% repair bonus is more or less matched by the at least +50% HP on armour, shield and structure on the federate. In pvp buffer is more important than repair amount.
Lastly, you know perfectly well the federate and its kind are better, or you would never have posted this thread.

The reason for this thread is simple. Every time i click on the variations tab of a raven, megathron, vexor, i have to click on those ships. And of course, i want it. Everyone who has a sense for optimization will, as you fit in better guns, buy faction platings, officer shield boosters ect.
If you want unique items, give it to those who want it and don't show us. But if you place a item into this game which is superior, it's insane to save it for ONE SINGLE MAN without the chance that anybody will ever get it. You generate desire without the option of satisfication. That's like Jessica Alba walking naked in front of you while being tied up to a chair.
If there has to be unique ships like these, simply create officer modified ships with identical attibutes. This is already the case for most of the officer and deadspace items! And that officer stuff drops already!

Hey, I'd accept being tied with Jessica Alba walking naked in front of me! I will probably never get a chance to meet her in RL, so... Plus, I got really crazy wrists and fingers, I'd probably be able to untie myself and grab that beautiful piece of woman!

No, you should never be able to get these ships by grinding, ever.
At best you could hope for is maybe giving them to the people with the most kills against their enemies faction(would have to be balanced etc) in FW or something. It should always be a pvp reward.

while i don't think it has to be a pvp reward (as long as something else is appropriately difficult) I completely agree that it should never be in the LP store. anything in the LP will be ground.

There is only one Federate Issue Megathron. And, it was stolen and sold to the current owner.
I would really love to have this ship. It might be nice for the existing one to become available, nicer if I could even compete financially to be a serious customer, nicer still if I ended up with it.
But, I do not think it would be a good idea to make them widely available, even though it looks as though I might never own it myself :(

No. Definitely no.
Some things are meant to be special. And they are only special if they are (almost) unique.
The only grind I would spend at least some seconds thinking about it's adequacy would be 9.99 or 10.0 faction standing (in addition to other things. However 4.0 is laughable at any rate). At least that would be worth something in terms of RP. It also shows real dedication and has some drawbacks. And you can't just buy it (ISK) or let others farm it (LP) while you're afk, without giving away your login and password.

problem: macro's would farm and we'd see these things on ebay.... probably cost as much as a car if u did it right but still
I'd say if you do this work it in with FW... once you have gotten x number of pvp kills and achieved x rank you can trade x isk and x LP for it. just make that first x big enough that you couldn't have alts join amarr join minmatar kill your alt a million times and get it... well at least not be able to do it cost effectively.
That or some kind of competition or lotery that you can only get into by paying a large amount of LP and have a very high standing..... these have shown to have problems in the past. and while many eve players would say they are fine with this I'm sure we'd hear many cry "deva vu".

In all honesty I was kinda poking fun at the idea of the federate and its counter parts being released as an obtainable ship. The LP points alone would take three to four months to aquire and thats not counting the 180 admiral dog tags or the real kicker of having to have a 4.0 gallente rep. Basicly I would expect it to take atleast six months to a year before someone could get a federate issue and who in their right mind would use such a ship in pvp after going threw all that to aquire just one? -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

15k LP per mission in lowsec, 20 minute average with a good ship and doing the missions blitz style will get you 2.000.000 lp in roughly 45 hours of play. Doing them for gallente corps will easily raise your faction standing above 4.0 and the basic mission pay will exceed 500 million ISK, the bounties will pay for the dog tags at a 1000% markup on the buy order.
Basically, take a week of work, play EVE fulltime and you'd have one. 3 to 4 months? You could have half a dozen to sell on auction for enough money you'd never have to worry about ISK in EVE again.

They don't NEED a incentive. They're already doing one of the most profitable proffessions in EvE without any risk at all.
Such ships should be PvP rewards, not something to grind by running missions for a month (which incidentally is the most un-Eveish thing in EvE, something which is essentially single player grinding content without challenge or risk).
Maybe, for people who risk their ships all the time in FW and fight for their faction, *maybe* for them.

I would also vote for yes on this one. Just because i don't see much sense in ships that aren't accessable to the public at all.
Though for RP reasons, i would suggest to offer them as a reward. Either for achievments on FW, or for a final cosmos mission. There are allready agents which require some 9.9 faction standing and offer a 2 run faction bpc for tags in return.

Fair enough, but when you set the difficulty on things in an MMO, you always have to account for the extremes. With my current typical play time it would take 3 to 4 years.
