Jack Thompson Guilty on 27 of 31 Misconduct Charges
O happy days!
While he hasn't faced any penalties yet, there's every indication this can only lead to disbarment. He was found guilty by the mediator, a judge, and her findings will be given to the Florida Supreme Court to decide judgment, which is basically like sentencing in criminal cases, as my understanding goes.
Yays for all gamers (and logical, well-grounded thinkers).
Edit - Gamepolitics is currently being pummeled by enthusiastic and celebratory gamers, so it may take few tries for the link to work.

The url seems to have exceeded the character limit.
More to the point it doesn't mean anything, the politics of distraction won't come to an end because one guy as mainstream american political culture is too self-absorbed, fundamentally anti-intellectual and reactionary to do much good. ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

That's not going to happen. This isn't a criminal trial. Though he'll hopefully and metaphorically rot in a prison of his own uselessness to society as a pariah.

He won't rot in prison, but from what I understand, from the the links I could access, he will probably be disbarred. Disbarment in all praticle sense and purposes is the earthly equivelant of being in hell, most lawyers fear disbarement like the plague. He will be able to continue his holy war against games and their players, but it will not be in court

I bet a pound that he "finds Jesus" in a very public way, then carries on pretty much as if nothing had happened.

Very true, but if purjury is proven, he will continue on in the same fashion minus a right to practice law. Which means he will be less able to disrupt the courts with worthless drivel. We will just have to keep hearing and reading the crap that comes out of this mans mouth.

He's already played the godjob card. It won't get him out this time.

He's already compared himself to Jesus on several occasions. Frankly I'm amazed Jesus hasn't manifested himself and slapped the **** out of him for doing so.
PS - I'm still trying to get a good link, but gamepolitics.com is still being hammered mercilessly. |

I dont know, I would hope that the amount of the courts time this guy has wasted will require some sort of punishment to be belted out. |

Well, the Department of Ironic Punishments in Hell will certainly have their hands full. Hopefully we'll see something sooner than that, though.
I'd be happy with a genuine psychological evaluation, not one doen by a friend.
