As it exists in game today, the double click action (show info) on a row in the market orders list is not useful. Rather than showing that item's details on the market, it opens a show-info window for that item -- typically, you should already know what the item is that you are selling. Not only that, but there is already a single-click show-info button/graphic at the far right of every single row.
So, there are two extremely simple ways to find out what this item you are already selling is. This is not very useful. The most common action taken upon a market order is to check its details on the market; currently, "View market details" is the fourth item down in the context menu, and people who check their market orders daily know that this is a matter of muscle memory as much as anything else. Double-clicking a market order should always take you to the market details for that item. This is a ridiculously simple fix, and given the complexity of the market UI optimizations already going on I hope that this frustrating UI peeve can be fixed by the release of 1.5.

If this sounds good to you, another marvelous innovation that I'm sure is fairly reasonable would be highlighting the orders that you have put up on the market. The client has a list of own-orders (including market order ID) readily available in the Orders tab already, and every market info request also includes market order IDs; having the client highlight those with matching IDs would surely be child's play.
I hope one of you fine scholars at CCP reads this. Thanks for the good work. Lobbying for your right to delete your signature |

I've posted something similar to this, and when skills can give you access to hundreds of orders, right-click-selecting to both view and modify an existing order gets old real fast. However, if you make it so convenient that a bot can do it, we all lose. In the end, I'd rather muscle memory my way through a clunky UI, than have the competition .01 isk my orders with robotic efficiency. |

They have much better muscle memory than you; if anything, it will make it easier to compete with bots.
Making the UI clunky and horrible is a terrible way to prevent people from using bots. Lobbying for your right to delete your signature |

I've suggestet to have the details window be shown next to the standard market window, among other things, in my thread. Would like for you to take a look at it, and give me an opinion.

Yay! Another pilot who has no idea what the "search" box at the top of the page is for...
This has been suggested several times. It would be much more constructive to post in one of THOSE threads rather than creating a NEW one. I've suggested it. Others have suggested it THIS WEEK. Yet you spam another post... |

Yet you spam another post... The only other threads created for this, including yours, were poorly written and/or badly targeted. I have suggested the simplest solution that requires the least coding work, and it looks like you're just getting mad because nobody ever liked or replied to your own thread
The only other post that I found that I really liked was Jako Nova's post in another (very poorly written) feature suggestion thread. Single-click to view market details (but only if the market window is up) and double-click to modify -- that could be good, though it is a bit more complicated and prone to becoming annoying as an overzealous UI feature (view market details makes the client lock for a second, and doing that on a single click could become rage-inducing). CCP implemented this change exactly as described.
Thank you, big heart. The UI team is doing God's work. Lobbying for your right to delete your signature |
