Just getting into using gang modules and noticed the following line of all the modules
While only one of these units can normally be operated at any given time, certain advanced units allow the use of multiple systems.
So the question is what are the advance units. I am looking at a full on mining support ship, does hte advance units mean command ships or is there a module which will allow 2 of the same gang module to be active at the same time.
Thanks for the flames.... |

The item you are searching for is a Command Processor I. It lets ships capable of using Gang Link Modules run one more than they would have been able to without one.
Also, I'm fairly certain that running two of the exact same module does not give you double the bonus. In your case, you could run the cycle-time reduction module and the mining amount module on a battlecruiser if you use a command processor, but you wouldn't get any extra benefit if you ran two cycle-time reduction modules as opposed to one. |

Both. Fleet command ships (eos, claymore, damnation, vulture) can field 3 gang links and carriers, motherships and titans can field up to 5 (+1 per level). There's also a module (command processor) that adds +1 to your control limit.
However, bear in mind you can't use 2 links of the same type. They don't stack. So running two laser optimization links would give you no benefit over running one. You could, however, run the optimization link, the capacitor link and the field link all at the same time. |

Thxs that the answer I was guessing I was expecting. You can fit two of the same type but you dont get stacking penalties, cos they dont stack.
Oh well plan B then. |

Is the limit 5 or 6? I know they get +1 per level, but do they start off with 1 like a battlecruiser or zero like any other ship?
I seriously doubt that a Titan, Carrier, or Mothership would actually ever run 5 or 6 gang-links; I'm just curious. |
