As of today the Eve client seems to be using more then 90% of both my cores. I currently have the following proc: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz, 3000 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
I have installed the premium client and have a nvidia 8800GT with 512mb of ram. When i play the game in windowed mode and watch a youtube film both cores will be at 100% and Eve starts to get choppy as hell. (While i am writing this my core use varies between 1 and 14%, meaning Eve uses more then 90% when active)
This has not been a problem before, it started today. Have there been any changes in the client or is there something else i've missed?

Same issue with my A64 3000+ : Eve uses 90% with focus and 40% without. This issue appeard after the 'optimisation' patch few weeks ago.
Through reinstallation, testing between my two computers, this issue is undoubtoudly related to Eve.

Similar CPU figures here and I have same CPU and graphics card as OP. I can easily run 2 premium graphics clients windowed on the same monitor at 1920 x 1200 and still have some spare CPU

Thanks for your replies, i will try to close all other background programs and see if there is something else that might cause the huge load on my processor.

I seem to remember something like this a year or more ago, but I don't remember if it was EVE or some other program. What I do remember is that the problem was some sort of conflict between EVE and a spyware remover. I think it was one of the free ones like Advanced Spyware Remover or Spyblaster etc.. Sorry if I've got the names wrong but you might want to try and uninstall your spyware stuff and try EVE.
