Ok, in my thread about Min & Gal agents in Amarr space some different ideas were brought up about what should or shouldn't happen to them. Well, we have a slightly better idea. Please read this Kaalakiota Takeover
Now, I would expect some RP comments that's cool. I am basically looking for what do you guys think about this? Is it right that the Caldari State takes over? What should happen to the agents that were "Quarantined" Should they still be allowed to work?
PS: I was just going to edit my other thread about stations belonging to other factions in the same space but thought a new one would be more fun since I could actually reference a news story. ________________________

Taking the agents out of circulation would cause a problem.
Maybe sending them to a random remote Gallente station on payment of a ransom to Kaalakiota. If it happens that Gallente have taken Kaalakiota agents hostage at some point, maybe a trade would be more appropriate. The agents would then be swapped to their new locations.

Actually a lot of the Caldari RP community is going wtf?
CCP's story is effectively shoehorning ****sm on the State by creating a Hilter-esque character in Heth. Heth now controls the largest Caldari Megacorp and we don't have a response from any of the political opponents or allies within the State. Where before some would say that the State's corporations operated in a fascist manner and the State had fascist hints, it appears that it is quickly slipping into down right ****sm!
Is Heth now going to take over the CEP too? The other Megacrops are just going to step down and let him lead them into what could be their ends?

That is a very unique analogy - Heth is the New ******.
Do you think it was a ploy between Noir and Heth, Giving Heth an excuse to grow or is he just taking advantage of the situation?
It almost looks like CCP is trying to create not only war with the factions but if your analogy is correct - possibly even a civil war. ________________________

Edited by: Letouk Mernel on 22/05/2008 18:43:22 That's why the Caldari are evil... corporate fascism is basically how the State is run. You have your slavers and religious zealots in the Amarr, you have your ****'s in the Caldari, you have the hedonistic / selfish / corrupt bureaucrats in the Gallente, and brutal, kill everyone "freedom fighters" in the Minmatar.
If the Caldari are doing a little ethnic cleansing, I wouldn't expect Gallente pod pilots to be treated differently than the general Gallente populace within the State. That means, KOS. Bye Bye faction standings...

Why? It's pretty obvious from the background information that the Caldari have supported ethnic cleansing, or at the very least the concept of "total war" and taking the fight to civilian population centers. I know the Gallente are often pointed out to be the heavy in the piece when it comes to the Gallente-Caldari war, but really reading all the material available paints a pretty harsh picture on the mentality of the Caldari.
- Caldari hid colonies from the Federation Government while still maintaining Federation membership.
- Federation calls them on it and the Caldari respond with warships.
- Federation blockades Caldari Prime and try to open diplomatic talks with the Caldari.
- The Caldari planetside target a Gallente civilian population center and kill over half a million Gallente.
- Federation responds by landing troops on Caldari Prime and launching kinetic strikes against strategic Caldari targets, forcing those Caldari to abandon those areas and flee into the mountains and forests.
- Caldari Admiral drops a carrier onto Gallente Prime killing more civilians.
The point is, the Caldari have ALWAYS been xenophobic and violent which is not a "good" combination. Not saying all Caldari involved were like that, but it seems to me that the more reactionary members of the State just kept upping the ante with atrocity after atrocity and the Caldari leadership got stuck with having to "save face" and backing what their citizens forced them into.

What angers me about these caldari press releases is that it seems this Heth dude is taking over all Caldari mega corporations with too much ease. They need to explain this a bit more. Is he buying out all these companies? If so, where is the money for all this coming from? If not, how do you become a CEO when you have no shares in the corp?
The speed with which all these Caldari CEO's are collapsing like a house of cards needs a bit more explanation.

It's another example of the Caldari leadership being forced into a position by someone else. Heth gained a lot of prole support and the CEP is afraid of what would happen if they stepped on his neck (remember prior to this things were shaky on the domestic front in the State)

Idaeus, one of the simplest ways to show that the Caldari are not xenophobic is to point to the Achura, which are part of the State. Another example is Mordu's Legion, which were original Intaki who signed with the Caldari & Achura in the Caldari-Gallente War.
The Caldari don't like others getting involved in their own business.

Yes the entire story could be compared to post WWI Germany in the lead up to WWII.
Read Chatsubo or even just IGS and you will get an idea what the Caldari RPers are thinking.
