Does it make a difference if you train the various Encription Methods past level 1? I realize that level 1 is necessary in order to make inventions, but does training it higher increase the chances of you invention project working or is it just a time sink?

now, a regular tech 1 ship does not have a meta level like other items, it just has a tech level. Does that mean it has an effective level of 0 or 1?

Thanks, RaTTuS. Though it does seem that the cost/benefit for training it to level 5 is not that much. It seems that including the optional equipments actually have more of an effect then the skills.
My question now is about decryptors. Is there any other way to get them besides buying them? In a plex maybe?

Metal level 0 means 0
i.e. no effect
so don't use T1 ships in invention as that will up the cost a load.
Level 4 is probably good enough for general inveion but if your donig the harder ones then 5/5/5 is the way to go
