I agree totally with the OP.
It's a well known fact that not adding faction warfare will instantly make the lag in fleet battles go away.

CCP are well ahead of you on that one. Given the amount of people who are claiming to be quitting on account of the GTC change, FW should be a relatively lag-free experience.

CCP fix lag on a daily basis between the hours of 11am and 12pm GMT. It drops off considerably when there aren't 200 people in the same system.

Hmm, fix lag, which affects me every single time I get into a fight... Or publish an expansion that has no content I am allowed to partake in.
That one is a no brainer as to which I'd rather have :)

The only people stopping you from partaking in factional warfare are your alliance, I'd ditch them if I were you. Ironically its also your alliances that cause the lag your experiancing.
