I'm not sure this should go in this forum but I've been told it's due to certain missions I'm doing and quite frankly, I've no idea where else to post it.
My standing with certain Factions is dropping and my standing with a certain corp is in dire straights (-4.2).
First of all the corp is Thukker Mix and you may ask why I'm botherd about this and I would say it's because my corp has several offices located in those stations and I remember reading pre-castor, of people being shot by Corps Sentry Guns because they had such poor rating with them. On this point, I'd like to know several things please. First of all, for what reasons could my standing with Thukker be dropping so drastically when I do not hunt any convoys, once I get to -5.0, will their sentry guns fire on me and refuse me docking rights and seeing how I can no longer use even one of their agents, what can I do to improve my standing with them and lastly, is this due to doing missions with the Caldari Navy?
This brings me to my second and generaly wider question: Does a negative standing with any Empire, Faction or Corp mean you will be fired upon by their Navys or their Sentry Guns?

Yes, low standing with a Faction will cause their navy ships to shoot at you.
Caldari like the Amarr, don't like the Minmatar and hate the Gallente. Now, while these secondary standing changes are usually smaller then the primary ones the change is also modified by the size of the corp. Smaller corps standings change quicker than large corps and especially quicker than a Faction (empire).
Find a minmatar corp to work for and you can raise your standing back up. Not Core Coplexion though, I think they are rivals.

Edited by: Juhlah Maidan on 04/05/2004 08:59:42 John, try out Brutor Tribe instead.
I was working on Thukker Mix up until yesterday, when I found out, on these message boards, that they are a pirate corp (or close). Thing is... Thukker Mix don't give out any implants. (They might give Ya "boosters", whatever that is, but it's not implemented yet.) Furthermore - You can actually loose faction with Thukker Mix doing kill missions (which is very weird). I believe they are linked to the Angels.
So try out Brutor Tribe instead. They are a Minmatar corp and they can give You three different kinds of implants.
Good Luck
[Edit: After reading Your post, thoroughly this time, I understand that my reply isn't "dead on". Sorry about that. Will leave it as it is anyway... It might provide somebody else with some useful info.]

I'm working for lai dai for over a month now and gain 5.55 in caldari state standing. However my standing with gallente and thukker tribe is falling dramaticaly (-1.77 and -1.20). Is there any corporation in caldari or amarri that will raise my standings? Minmatar will do no good, cause i already have -0.6 there.

How did you get your Caldari state standing so high? I've been doing agent missions for a Caldari corp for ages and it doesn't seem to go up anymore
Do kill missions give a better increase per mission than other types?

Try playing like 10hrs/day
I think it must have been kill missions cause i used to have them like 80% of all. Then i trained negotiation from lvl2 -> lvl3 and all i get now are currier. But i also get some kill mission where i have to destroy some gallente navy ships (vexor, scout...). These mission droped my gallente standing dramaticaly, so i'll cancel them in the future.

Connections skill allows you to get higher agents with higher level.
Social skill gives you more standings per mission.
Criminal connections allows you to work for neg standings corp.
Negotiations skill makes your rewards more profitable.
Fast Talk allows for PvP and reuces the concord standings hit. --------------------------

Criminal connection helps you with NPC's who have negative concord standing. The only skill that comes handy in my situation is diplomacy, but that almost doesn't exists.

Re-reading this I thought of something that might be clarified a bit.
Low standing with a corporation will NOT cause their station's sentry guns to shoot at you. Supposedly at some point they will but that isn't implemented yet because all the regional alliances would be destroyed. Most of them wouldn't be able to dock at any of the stations.

AFAIK, the only way to raise faction standing is completing Important Missions. If you open your character info, click on the standings tab, then relations and find the faction, right click on it and click 'show transactions'. This list shows you exactly what mission you did which adjusted the faction standings, and by how much

also, if you happen to be an older player in eve and you killed pirates before all the sec changes were brought in, you will have high faction with most of the races (and probably jove and concord)

I've been getting worried about faction changes due to missions. So, anyone help with answers to a few noob questions? :)
1) At what point does a negative faction get you shot or unable to dock?
2) If gallente main faction drops to a level where I would be killed, does positive faction with Federation Navy save me?

You should try to do some important missions, even level 1 for the Minmattars corps, maybe the Leisure Group and see what happens to your standing with Thukker. I think it should raise a bit.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I think it's because the Angels aren't my biggest fan.
