Edited by: Unseeing Allknowing on 23/05/2008 06:43:15 Edited by: Unseeing Allknowing on 23/05/2008 06:42:35 Due to Empyrion Age, a lot of people would really like to reset their standings. In the past, standings were a side effect of running missions or something to benefit you with trade, but now it's restriction who you can fight for. It's also damn near impossible (if it's possible at all) to raise standings from -4 or worse to fight for a faction. I have some friends who would want to join the Minmatar or Gallente factions, but it's impossible for them to raise their standings.
Thoughts? Signatures?
Edit: This is a one time thing, and Concord standings should not be reset.

Ahh, because you have such a vested interest in making people do factional warfare for the faction with which they ran missions...
Flying in Caldari space... trading in Jita... living in the north... All these made me run missions for Caldari agents as it was more convenient. Why can't I fly for my faction? I would run missions to get my standings up, but there are no agents I have access to.

All FOUR MAJOR EMPIRE standings can be corrected even from an abysmal -10.0 It might take a while, sure, but it can be done.
No such reset is needed. Just a lot of hard work.

Because you betrayed your faction by working for it's enemy and living in enemy space. How can they trust a collaborator ?
@op: reset all faction standings ? Why not reset eve completely so that everyone starts with 1m sp, 5k isk and a rookie ship ?

Actually, you can be living in another faction's space, and still do missions for your own faction. After all, there are stations and agents in 'enemy space' from your own faction.
As for working for another faction, I always found it idiotic that if you do the same missions (killing Guristas, Angels, whatever) for a different faction, that it reduces standings with other factions. Why would the Republic be ****ed off if I do a mission against Angels for a Amarr corp in Heimatar? I'm making their space safer, and killing their enemies right? I understand that they won't give me a medal, but to consider me an enemy of the state? Makes no sense to me at all.

Join a gang with someone that has access to lvl4 missions for the faction you want to raise standings with. Run missions with them until your standings increase enough to give you access to agents (-1?), then grind on from there. By that point you'll probably have great standings with the lvl4 agent, so you'll be able to use him much sooner than other lvl4 agents

Merdaneth, the Minmatars need to eat, too. How will they earn money if you keep blowing up all the Angel ships and their fedos? Think of the poor little Matari children who won't get to eat because the big bad Amarrian killed those pirates that a good Republic officer could have collected the bounties on! You thief.
Seriously though, I have no idea.

THANK YOU!! :D ... i would surely have left if my standing was reset just so a bounch of people that decided to do something "evil" against their faction could get a "easy" pass away from the konseqeunce of their action ___________________________________________ Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. well they won't = tehy will not eat = dead minmatar. if they want to eat they should go back to slaveri at the amarr. if some one can't survive on it's own it shouldn't be allowed too ;) ___________________________________________ Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. They might be looking at it.
There is a slight option to improve your factional standing besides running missions even if it is rather low. If you join a corp participating in FW you can have a chance there. Of course if you pull the average corp standing below the limit it might be a problem. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

Doesn't work. You can only share standings increases from regular missions, not storyline missions. No shared stroyline standings = no shared faction standings increases.
The current rumour is that you will be able to fix your faction standings by joining a corp that is a part of faction warfare and assisting in completion of objectives for that faction.
However, we are still waiting for official documentation on how faction warfare allows you to increase your faction standings without working for agents.

I dont think they mean an actual standings reset since Mephysto just said:
Originally by: CCP Mephysto To the best of my knowledge, there are no plans to allow a standings reset.
And this:
Quote: I shall endeavor to make sure there is a way to climb out of the -10 hole.
might only mean that it wont be as difficult 200 level 4 missions.

200 level 4 missions would be easier than it is now.

The only reason with any merit I can see for a standings reset is that it -might- help with the racial imbalance issue.
Other than that, a free standings reset would be a kick in the teeth to everyone who has already worked at worked at balancing their standings, or has been fixing them in preparation for FW. And also to the people who've been loyal to their factions all along.
Face it, if faction loyalty was less important to you than convenience and iskies when you chose who to run missions for, it shouldn't be that big of a deal now.

Edited by: Lucas Avignon on 24/05/2008 00:28:31 There is absolutely no need, all you have to do is join a player corp that's part of the militia...
... I've had a few people with no standings or negative standings just join my corp on the test server and fight away for that faction.
I just hope that if someone does join a player corp in a particular faction that by particpating in factional warfare that their standing overall with that faction is increased.
