I hear all about how Angels are yo much better than any other pirate factions, when it comes to loot/salvage. Is it really true or is it an exaggeration? If it were true, than it would be logical for someone who salvages/loots all his missions to focus on regions with Angels rats, right? I have studied this Salvage DB but I don't know how accurate those numbers are. Please share your knowledge. Lia Sun |

Angels don't have best loot(IMO merceneries in missions do), the salvage value is probly best with them because of current alloyed tritanium bar price. Angels have most ATBs in salvage(other factions have next to none). Sansha and bloods also have decent salvage value from melted cap consoles and armor plates

I grind a lot of missions for all factions ( look at my standings, seriously. )
I never salvage or loot Serpentis or Guristas except when about to head out and not feeling like pulling another mish. You can spend 30 minutes cleaning up one of their larger missions and add ... 2-3M worth of loot and salvage combined, if you're lucky. While blasters and rails are valuable drops, they are relatively rare. The best drop from salvage is armor plates, the rest of the stuff is nearly free. Guristas are the worst -- launchers don't yield very many minerals at all when recycled, so on average the loot is absolute crap.
In contrast that would be 5-10M for the same effort cleaning up a similar Blood Raider or Sansha mission, and 5-15M from Angels.
As far as focusing only on Angels -- most of my income is from rat bounties. So rats which die fastest and agent concentrations which can be exploited to pull the most non-sucktacular missions (no !$#!@$# drones, no Massive Attack) are far more important than salvage and loot. Basically I welcome salvage and loot thieves, it makes me feel bad to have all that loot and salvage just rot. I'd rather it went on the market.

I have - quite impressive list!
One thing I don't agree with you is that all salvage other than armor plates is crap. I was able to make almost a million on salvage on lvl one missions against sansha from selling mostly burned logic circuits (80k each * 10+)
But your employment history shows, what I feared ... Brutor trine against angels ... :)
Hmm, I guess I will try the Federal intel office for a while, just because I'm stubborn, but I am pretty sure, you are right and I will have to switch to Brutor Tribe for best profits :)
Thanks for the info. Lia Sun |

That's why we all love eve, there's no one right way to do things. But compare how many wrecks you had to salvage to get that million vs. taking 30 seconds to blow up a 1 million ISK bounty battleship in a L4 and you can see how the loot/salvage vs bounty equation shifts over time as you get higher level missions and start killing rats faster. Time to salvage each wreck stays roughly constant, mission completion time keeps shrinking.

Kinda sorta. It's a bit misleading. I do grinding of standings for trade alts, and lately my alts have been pulling missions for Amarr/Ammatar or Thukker Tribe instead of me. For best return on missioning hour I'd recommend Republic Fleet (vs mainly Angels and mercs). Spacelane Patrol (vs Guristas) and Ministry of War (vs Sansha, Bloods, drones) are other favorites.
