I have asked for help in game and I get bombarded with technical jargon are redirecting shortcuts and changing properties which I am just really not accquainted with, I want to take place and help in the sisi testing today, can someone please tell me, step by step, how to make EVE connect to singularity, it used to just be a drop down menu on the main screen but thats gone.
Thanks.

Quote: Hello folks!
Since we'll be having a bit of collective testing on the test server coming up soon, here's a quick guide on how to get set up so you can connect to it. I will explain it all in explicit detail, for those who might not know how to perform a single step. If you happen to know how to perform the actions I describe, just skim it, alright? Thanks :-)
I.
First off, you will need to create a copy of your EVE folder. 1.) Open Windows Explorer. 2.) Locate your EVE folder. The default location would be C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE. 3.) Create a copy of that folder. How to do that? - Select your EVE folder while you're in the CCP folder. - Press Ctrl+C. - Press Ctrl+V. This will create a new folder called "Copy of EVE". After the copy process is finished, feel free to rename it to "EVE-Singularity" or whatever strikes your fancy.
II.
Now, we will need to patch this fresh copy of your TQ (Tranquility, the live server we all play on every day) up to the version that is running on Singularity. SiSi (short for Singularity) is used to test beta and release candidate patches before they are released on TQ. At the time of writing, SiSi is running the bulk of the upcoming new EVE expansion "The Empyrean Age", so yes, you will be able to test out faction warfare and all that other interesting fluff.
1. Open this link http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp?s=singularity and select the appropriate version of EVE you are running. For most of us, this will be either "Windows - Classic Graphics Content" or "Windows - Premium Graphics Content". 2. On the next page, you will find a lot of warnings, and an innocent little link entitled: "Download TQ to Singularity Patch". Click that, and save the file it links to in a place where you can find it again. 3. Execute the file you just saved. It will be called something like "evepremiumpatch53162-55516_test.exe". This will open the test patch setup. 4. During the setup, you will be asked to specify the directory where your EVE client is installed. The setup will warn you, but just to reiterate: Do NOT install it in the folder of your regular TQ installation! Using the "Browse" button, locate and select the new copy of your EVE folder we made in step I., and click ok. 5. Watch the patch be applied.
III.
Now we will create a shortcut to Sisi on your Desktop for convenience.
1. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer, and once more locate this new copy of your eve folder we have made in step I. 2. Find the file called EVE.exe. If you have file extensions turned off, look for the file called "EVE" - not "EVE (Safe Mode)"! - with the EVE icon. 3. Right click that file, and select "Create Shortcut". This will place a shortcut to your Sisi EVEin the same folder. Now, feel free to drag that around to your desktop or start menu, or wherever you would like it.
And done!

I currently have 5.10.55798 installed in a different directory. Is the test server down? Its reporting status 'unknown'.
