I thought it was intensely corny, but a good kind of corny, like a comic book, that made it fun. I would have to say that this is one of my all time favorite movies.

Big Indy fan, so prob a bit biased, but I really enjoyed the movie. I thought the initial premise that brought Indy and his antagonists together was pretty weak, and there was one scene later I thought made no sense at all (the diner), but if you forgive it the implausible beginning, once it kicks into gear, it does feel like an Indy film Not enough whip *****ing but maybe after 20 years he's found other ways of doing things! There are a few in-references that I thought were a nice touch and some great comedy moments, not to mention the exotic locations and great action! The Man in the Hat is back! -------------

Just saw it this evening and I really enjoyed it, the only thing I didn't like was the very end as it just seemed far to cheesey for me. Aside from that it was a really fun movie.

We went to see it this afternoon, all in all totaly enjoyed it.
Still the same old film recycled for another story, no bad thing if you enjoyed the first outings (even though you wish in your heart Mr Ford were still 20 years younger). Few things were a little far fetched, but mostly forgiven as what was good outweighed the bad.
The bad being the fridge, the monkeys and the swinging in the tree's, and the space ship at the end.
Maybe a little long in total running time, friend commented on it, i was thinking it.... think his comment was more to do with the table we had booked at the restaurant we were rapidly running out of time on ______

It totally rocked, it worked exactly as intended. If you can't get over the fact that this movie is a throwback to the old B grade movies, don't see it.
It was over the top, and great in general.

I did. There was something else in there as well, looked like a 2 week oldhunk of meat. Maybe they just cleared out whatever was in the fridge on set that morning, covered it in layers of plastic wrap to cover the smell, and shoved it in. _______________________________ Pleese exucse any seplling erorr's in tihs psot |

<WARNING: SPOILERS IN THIS MESSAGE>
I thought it was OK for a throwaway action movie, but not great by any means.
I have trouble suspending disbelief of the little things.
For example I'm OK with the alien theme and the spaceship taking off, but I have trouble seeing Indy standing on the edge of a cliff watching an entire Mayan pyramid breaking up into bricks and spinning around in a hurricane about 10 feet from his head.
The young biker guy didn't grate as much as I thought he would when he was first introduced to the plot in the restaurant. At least he never became a Scrappy Doo style character to Indy's Scooby.

Its an okay film.
For me it would say...
Raiders of the Lost Ark 10/10 Classic
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 7/10 Good
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 9/10 Great
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 6/10
It was nice to see Indi back for nostalgic reasons but as as a movie on its own it was like someone else said, a throwaway action movie.

It was a good film, but I agree that Iron Man was better.
Ford could have done a much better job. Some of his scenes were just phoned in. His father/teacher stuff was great, though.
A lot of it was corny, but a lot of people fail to realize that the whole series is. It's a B movie made by an A+ director. It's an homage to earlier B movies that were over-the-top and unbelievable, but great fun.
And let's not forget that Indy is the Patron Saint of Gamers. And there were allusions to it!
So, if you want it to be serious cinema, you'll be disappointed. If you want a fun, adventure yarn that's thrilling to watch, and doesn't need to make sense, it's great.
Also, I really liked how it brought the franchise into the scientific era. Gone are the pre-WWII mystical ideas; now we have the Roswell aliens of the nuclear age.

WHile I thought the storyline and much of the movie was a total cliche, and just all a bad joke, there was one particular scene that really irked me.
The sword fighting scene between the two jeeps. If you ignore the sword fighting, and just watch the two people driving the jeeps, it looks so corny and stupid. It completely killed my immersion into the movie, and just left a bad taste in my mouth for the remainder of the film. ------------------------------------ I support the following changes:

It was decent (watched it earlier today while probing out missionrunners (thank you internets!))
******** SPOILERS *********
The parts i liked: The beginning, throwing of gunpowder ETC (if somewhat implausable) The characters -- They worked well together The acting was fairly decent
The parts i didnt like:
The FRIDGE oh that goddamn fridge ****ed me off for the whole movie. "Ohnoes im gonna be nuked, lets hide in a fridge" The fact that everything else was destroyed but the indy occupied fridge wasnt ****ed me off.....alot. Though im surprised Harrison Ford didnt break a hip during the film, so maybe he is invicible
The ending...IT failed
The props and special effects
The snake -- YOU CANNOT PULL A 10+ STONE MAN OUT OF QUICKSAND WITH A ******* SNAKE!
