Is it possible to jam and tackle? Is there enough cap etc. Could you hold the jammers and scramblers long enough for your boys to hammer them or for you to kill them with your launchers? I have seen setups for both but I would be interested to know if any of you have tried a jamming and tackling setup.

By "tackling" I assume you mean webbing or scrambling. Do not use a BB for this. Use a BB for target jamming only. Run an ECM for each race and then one or two multispecs. Put the race jammers on auto repeat and manually hit the multispecs to break the lock.
If you are killing someone it's best to have short range damage dealers. Put the scramblers and webbers on those ships.

hi-slots 4x med smartbomb
med-slots 1 mwd, 2 webbers, 2 7.5km warp-jammers, 1 sensor booster
lo-slots 2 cap relays
Just get in, webify/warp scramble, activate smartbombs (defence against drones and missiles) while hopefully avoiding slow-tracking large turrets.

How do you guys have enough cap to run smartbombs, a MWD, and the warp disruptors/scramblers/web?

That's why it's funny, professor.

You really don't want to do everything, otherwise you end up being pretty poor at everything. Jack of all trades and master of none so to speak. Either adopt Joshua's setup (pin-them down), or go for the ECM role and let someone else do the sticking down. A nice combination cruiser-wise is to have a Jamming Blackbird and a Webbing/Scrambling Blackbird, with a missile-spitting Caracal in the rear. Also quite effective is a Jamming Blackbird with a Thorax fitted with blasters. You lock them down, then let your buddy do the damage (or vice versa).
I find a nice setup for the med-slots is 4*Race Specific and a Multi (as said above run the Specifics, and flick the Multi on and off to break the lock) with a M Shield Booster to suck up random damage from rats/stray missiles etc.

I dont think its good to use Multispectrals on a BB, I used 2 of em and my cap was gone in like 2 nano seconds.. ==================

That's the thing - you use the Multi Jammers whenever they try to get a lock, hence breaking the lock, then you can switch it off again. Keep your wits about you and you can jam an unprotected battleship without ever running out of capacitor.

I've been thinking about a jamming role for an interceptor... can i have your thoughts on this?
The way i thought it might work is as follows:
1. Interceptor MWD's to enemy fleet 2. Interceptor locks as many ships in the fleet as possible 3. Jam ship #1 for one cycle 4. Jam ship #2 for one cycle 5. Go down the list of ships
Basically: Instead of just locking down one ship, have the whole fleet down to 50% efficiency because they need re-acquire a lock every x minute.
Would this work?
Autotargetting system has about the same range as the interceptor (allowing for 2 more targets aswell) and the ECM's dont have to be on autorepeat because the jamming target is different all the time, which might save cap. -------

this would work as long as nobody in the enemy fleet had any drones...
