Hi all. My broadband supplier (freeserve) is starting a new tariff setup and I would like some information about Eve Bandwidth.
At present I have Unlimited access, but the new systems that are offered have limited bandwidth (as low as 2Gb a month). They also offer a 1Mb broadband offer with 30Gb usage. My Question is, how much playtime would a Gb give, and are there ways of reducing bandwidth to increase Eve time.
All responses gratefully received, as this problem seems to be springing up with more and more ISP's. Thanks

under the general/genaric tab in eve turn off the loading of the station enviroment and check the box "never load profile picture" or something along those lines. even tho the profile picture is small they do add up. i would also look into getting another isp 2gb a month is pretty sorry for a broad band connection. just a thought tomw _______________________________________________

it's the updates that'll hurt, the general game stays at less then 2.5KBps (because I can still play it when my broadband connection's been capped to that speed!)

Well it doesnt use that much, in my opinion. I can download with 440kb/s upload at the same time with 65kb/s (both my max) and still have no lag.
So it would take like 1kb/s ??? Not much data traffic then.

Lol. You guys are lucky. You've got broadband.
I play this game over dial-up, and in four hours of play i might download 6mb total. ---

given that EVE is designed to be able to run on dial-up, EVE is unlikely to have too much impact on that 2GB limit. You just need to keep an eye on the EVE-related downloads, like the community videos ;).
If you need to keep better track of your usage, try and find a download monitor.
