Been playing for a couple of days now. I've already suffered some ore theft and am now training in anchoring.
What are all of the other tactics that pirates use while in Empire space and what should I be watching out for? Any help/info from any pirate/non-pirate will help. Thanks Assassin for Hire... |

when you get down to 0.4 and lower to mine you should always look in local.. otherwise you may get a suprise web and warp scramble on you When The Man Behind The Blade Comes You Will Feel Pain |

In empire, if you are fly an Indi, always look out for suicide kestrels. Those scumbags use alts, and cheap Kestrel frigats with torpedos or cruisers... They fire a slavo of missiles, than the concord kill them... their friend jump in and pick you loot... A slavo of 4 torpedos or cruiser missiles, easily kill you in an indy. So be aware. And fit shield booster on you ship... always... Just calculate a bit. 4 torpedo or cruiser = 4 x 450 point damage if you are unlucky. If you can survive 1 attack, you win, couse they have no secod chance... problem is if there it 2 ratbrat... then you are nearly 100% toasted... If you see someone with realy negative standing, and he/she is not old (I mean less than a month) it is possible that he/she is a suicide attacker...

Another thing to watch out for while in Empire Space: Certain swindlers will try and dupe you into attacking them by targeting and/or jamming you. You get the message saying you are being targeted/jammed and think "this guy is trying to kill me!" So you fire on him thinking its perfectly fine to defend yourself, but realize you are suddenly in a pod because Concord or the sentry guns have taken you down for attacking someone in empire space. Happened to me just 2 weeks into the game. I hadn't read up on the "rules and regulations" of empire space yet! Lesson learned, but it was a hard one

Afaik, target jamming is an act of agression, and will get concord\gate guns to respond accordingly. Targeting on the other hand is not, i believe ship\cargo scan isnt eather. ----------------------

Perhaps one should learn about game mechanics before we speak. Frigates can only equip standard launchers. Standard launchers can only fit cruise missiles and lower. So no, they wont be firing torpedos. How long does it take to train up cruise missiles again?

Think it takes about 7 or 8 days for a "noob" to train missile launcher op 5, so, i guess about 12 or 13 days old players can have cruisemissile skills

No one will hire an assassin to kill a noob so don't worry about that. Not unless the nub is a super pest. |
