I keep seeing "safespots" referred to in posts. By the name and the way they are used in posts I assume they are places you can warp to where NPC's wont agro on you; as in say a roid belt. But, then ive heard them referred to in posts regarding PVP. As in, "try parking your ship in a safespot, change ships and then surprise them...etc"
can someone fill me in on this term please. What is it technically, how do you find one whatever...lol

safespot are places people should not find you, not easily at least. Making one is easy, just bookmark the place you are when warping for example, but there are other ways to create them.

Safespot is mainly a PvP term.
Basically it means a 'spot' which someone hunting you cannot warp directly to.
If a system is filled with enemies and you try and hide by warping to a moon/sunn/plante/belt etc your opponent can warp to all these places and search them.
However a safespot is not located next to a celestial item and therefore in theory 'safe' - Although you can potentially be tracked down by clever people with scanners - given a lot of time and patience.
You can create safespost midwarp using the 'create bookmark' option in you 'People & Places' folder. Then when an enemy shows up warp to that spot.
Would suggest however you actually move off the warp track someway before creating the bookmark.

Most people tend ti go into a system, and then drop the game, The game, as a saftey precautino, warps you wtf out to a random point in space not near anything, Create a bookmark there. Than you can go back to that spot whenever you want to. Its not near any asteroids, stations, planets. Nothing. The odds of someone finding you are slim to none, even with scanners.

The only truly safe safespots are those that are created from another safespot. These are impossible to find within a reasonable amount of time.
