here is this weeks thread were we all ask for an update on lvl4 agents.
here are the current known facts concerning lvl4 agents.
1. they are "level 4"
2. they are agents
i do hope this has helped to clear up any confusion.
as always keep any eye on the patchlog as this will be updated with-in hours of the patch going live.

They might be somewhere between 3.5 - 3.99 but the system will display them as being level 4

too busy to care for the player base ?
thats gotta be a real bad business model for sure.
strikes me as rather simple....
imput = one man and 5 mins of his time
output = usefull and requsted information for thousands of players
im not sure exactly how much code you can bang out in 5 mins..but im thinking that 5 mins of imput on the forum will pay dividens in keeping the playerbase informed and happy..
seems to be to be a most worthwhile and valueable use of 5 mins, but hey what do i know ?

Please Amin we are trying to stick to the solid confirmed facts.
even if your statement is NOT untrue (as "any day now" can be tommorow next week next year etc). people might mistaken your comment to mean SOONtm, as if befor their next 6 monthly sub is due for renewal.
so for this reason it cannot be included in the list of KNOW facts.

however you may not know that lvl 3.5 agents were supposed to be intorduced. when i say lvl 3.5 i dont actulay mean they will say 3.5
BUT it was original stated (by Papa and has not been dismissed to this date) that the role of out lvl 4 agents whould be a two phase situation.
there was supposed to be a rapid deployment of "stop gap" lvl4 agents, with a handfull of more difficult kill missions to keep people happy. this would then be followed by a more comprehensive lvl4 agent system inc many types of senario missions / dungeons (what the hell happened to them methinks) etc.
what ever happened tp the lvl 3.5 agents i do not know.
i can only assume we have not waited this long just for the first phase and it was decided to steam towards full lvl 4 deployment.

Well, if i remember correctly the estimated number of lines written in a software engineering project per person per day is about 20 (yes twenty) lines of code.
So, according to my calculations, 5 mins of enlightening ppl costs about 0.01388888 lines of code.
Lets say that CCP is some lean-mean coding machine (i doubt that), and can punch out double that effort, still it does not go more than 0.03 lines of code for each line that will help thousands of ppl

Rancid, I was referring to what the lvl 4 agents usually say to me whenever I try and talk to them... Usually just after a patch I fly over in the hope that they just forgot to mention in the patch notes that lvl 4 are active, so I talk to them in the blind hope of getting a response along the lines of: "Ah, the competent one returns just in time to intercept the Gallente invasion fleet approaching New Caldari. This is an important mission and you will be awarded one unit of elite occular implant II upon completion."
For some unknown reason, I am always disappointed

I am sure the agents will be here as soon as they are ready. I seem to remember that you complained about kill missionis beeing too easy. Well, go out into 0.0 and hunt some nasty BS spawns or high-end cruiser spawns. Trust me, you'll be plenty challenged.
Ofc if you do not wish to leave the "safty" of Empire I can't really say anything but "cry me a river".

You where born 20/06/03. May main char, who is now biomass because I exchanged him with Judicator was bnorn 11/05/03. Before that he played during the beta. Now you may have done this, but I was probably killing npcs before you.
Aside from that, I did not know that you where FA and frankly I dont care. You whine like a stung pig. You'd rather do ****ty agent missions than chain nice serp spawns?
Did someone hit you in the head?

yes well i can appriciate why some people whould rather do one over the other. and i supposed i have to agree that big fat spawn beats running lvl3 agents anyday of the week.
however it cannot be argued that the Agent system is one of the primary paths for introduction of new bp etc into the game.
when the RD agent system was introduced i made a decision to leave my home area and move to empire to work on these new agents, as i considered it a worthwhile effort and would eventualy benifit the corp.
i did make the trip back home only to hear of the new Zor mission and +4 plants.
trip back to empire and then Zor gets removed (hence not happy about that), only to be TOLD that an initial lvl4 implementation was SOONtm.
so what to do ?
fly home and hunt spawns, spend time with me corp mates etc or work on my pants agent in preperation for the lvl4s (which we all assume would be comming SOONtm sooner rather than SOONtm later)
i made the decision to stay with the agent, again in the hope of a longer term benifit to the corp.
i EVEN talked a mate into joing the game with the sole purpose of flying gang on these supposed lvl4 missions, as it was reported way way back that this would definatley be a requirement.
fast forward 3 or 4 months....
not a word
not a peep
no updates
no communication
no nothing
a week or two ago i said *******s to it all
my wingman and i flew back home.
i would suggest that many people currently running agents are doing so in preperation for the lvl4's, as each week passes their thinking it will be next week or the week after.
but this never happens and when people ask they get flamed and derided on the forums from other players/IDS and even the odd gm like to get his lick in.
for the last 2-3 months as each week passes with out any info on lvl4s at all i have come to dislike the agent system horribly.
im not saying
GIVE ME THE LVL4'S NOW
I WANT SHIVA NOW
STOP EVERYTHING YOUR DOING AND CARE FOR ME NOW
what i am saying is
TALK WITH US..
ANSER OUR LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS...
INCLUDE US IN THIS GAME.....
mabye now you can appriciate why somepeople (myself included) can get so anoyed and angry about the roll out of lvl 4 agents.
all we want to know is whats going on..so that we can best prepair ourselves.
if its going to be another 3 months then tell us, but do not make comments like soon or next few patchs and then go slient for another month.
my anger is not with you Judicator, you just happened to catch me at a bad point and make a comment which unlucky for you turned out to be a bit off the mark. and equaly unluck was the fact we found a BS spawn at the same time.
hence providing me with the perfect screeny to sling back at you.
that was childish and not something a grown man ought to be doing.
so for that i appologise.
however im still well not plused at CCP and i will continue to ask for information that i feel is relevant.
if we had a rough idea of whats going on then i chould both hunt with my corp and also prepair for lvl4 agents.
however i fear that the lvl4's will be sprung upon us with the minimal if any notice at all, which is both wrong and impossible to prepair for.
is it so wrong for me to beleave things really ought to be better than they currently are with regards to CCP/community interaction ?

You have some valid points. I even had them once. What I decided was to do what I like and not chase after some golden nugget.
Original Tech II can be very valuable and I cannot argue that some drops from agent missions are worth a lot and that the value might increase with better implants and whatnot.
CCP are crappy when it comes to telling the truth if you ask me. If I cared to do it I could pick out so many false and funny statements from CSM's. But I just don't care.
I play EVE and I do it how I want. I simply said to myself that I simply won't believe anything CCP says untill it's ingame. Then I might go and do agent missions or tr y and get new BPO's.
For now I PvP and kill NPC's because that is what I like. I've done agent missions, and I might even go back and do more or try and get tech ii/iii BPO's.
Play the game, do what you like. Be that PvP or NPC farming 24/7. But never believe CCP and frankly, just ignore what they say untill it's ingame.
Just my 2 cents. I am happier this way than constantly anticipating somethign that never arrives, or is constantly postponed.
