I've been playing eve for about two months now, and thoroughly enjoy it, but there has always been one thing that annoyed me. The UI. Not the way it looks, or the way you interact with it, but the way it absolutely KILLS you're FPS, I think my FPS drops about 20-30fps with it on, compared to when i hit cntl-f9 to turn it off....the game is certainly bogged down a good bit by this. Now I have heard that this is supposed to change at some point, but I was wondering, was this going to happen anytime soon? Its currently the only thing keeping me from enjoying the game as much as I'd like to (playing at low fps due to the ui that is).

CCP is making a new UI for shiva, this will make it possible for more then 8 mods to be places and other thigns like that, dont know if this includes lag issues...

Ew.. New UI with Shiva.. That sounds pretty scary.
All they need to do with the current UI is add an option to turn off that FPS guzzling gradient effect.
Just righclick -> UI Colors -> Disable Gradient Effect
And if CCP plans to change the UI completely.. Might I suggest a CLASSIC feature to keep your current player base stable.

i really hope they manage to put all slots on the same palete this time - the whole circle crap thing where you have to constantly switch between highs and meds is pretty bad.

actually i could try and make a good UI as it would be in my opinion...prolly not gonna matter tho :

a circular dial works good, they just need to make it bigger and have the high medium and low slots all show at the same time.. so basically enlarge the circle and have three rings of slots instead of one at a time
pretty simple fix i would think, have it scale with the screen size so if youre running at a low res and in windowed the damn thing doesnt take up the whole bottom of the window
thats the only quick-fix solution i can think of, would probably support more than 8 slots if the slot icons are scaleable

If the things was a reasonable size and had all the modules in, activating the right one with the mouse would be like hitting a bunny-hopping CT in the head with the scout.

AT LAST! MY FPS SKILLZ CAN BE UTILIZORED! I'm all for it! When will that happen?
