Hey CCP!! Lookin for some OOP aid over here!!
Going to iceland second week of June (9-16). Looking to do some hiking (10-14). Plan A, laugavegur trail, Landmannalaguer to Porsmork. If we can't coordinate the logistics of Plan A, considering either Skaftafella or Trollaskgi.
Any good linkage to check on road conditions in Iceland?
Any good ideas about stove fuel? Websites say it is available at most gas stations.. Can somebody confirm?
Going to have a suzuki grand vitara, supposedly 4x4. We are all veteran hikers and we're looking to do some crazy adventure. Any recommendations?

have they improved the alcahol laws? i went about twenty years ago and there was only about 5 shops where u could buy drink from. I ended up buying a bottle of brennivin and got drunk for about 24 hours then was sick as a parrot for the next 48

Both plan A and plan B sound good to me, both very nice hiking locations in their own right.

About stove fuel, yes, it can be bought in almost all gas stations.
Wherever you do go hiking, please do let someone know where you are going and how long you expect the trip to take. That can save your bacon should something unforseen happen.

Laugavegur trail is very nice, done it 3 times so far and will do it again this summer.
Most people start in Landmannalaugar and end in ¦orsm÷rk. I have done that route once but I prefer doing it the other way around and extend it for one day.
Usually we start doing the "Fimmvor=uhßls trail" It starts at Sk=gar and ends in ¦=rsm÷rk.

Its also easy to grab a lift/bus back to Sk=gar to pick up the car.
Also since you are experianced hikers, adding the "Fimmv÷r=uhßls trail" should be a fun challenge for you.

You should go check out Stakkholtsgjß in ¦=rsm÷rk, I've been all over Iceland and not found any sites I liked more.
