I'm confused.. it says there are over 3000 people in Tranquility but I'm unable to log in.
Is this just me, or is this happening to others? |

Same problem here:
Unable to connect to 157.157.139.10 on port 26000 is what it says underneath the Tranquility 'tab' where it usually says player numbers... -----
--- 'The truth about low sec space is that it reveals humanity - the 'essence' of all the races, in its purest form. A place where Concord no longer polices or protects, 'human nature' thrives in all its distilled destructive self-serving glory. Welcome to hell ladies and gentlemen, welcome to what it really is to be human.'

Same here. CCP Sort It Out! Most games out there have a WEEKLY downtime, not a daily one. Sure, EVE Online holds a huge databse bla bla. Heard all that before but eventhough I love playing EVE Online, these sudden server reboots are starting to annoy. It's just very unprofessional in my opinion.

I'm tired of this. I thought they upgraded hardware? From beta, I tried to get into a role with Captain Stern and Privateer Stern as brothers in the game, and from beta I've slowly more and more gave up on that because this happens too much.
Be prepared too, they are probably going to cap the server for a bit after it's back up again, too.

So CCp is this ever gonna stop i mean come one we go through this at least 3 times a month if not alot more. I got an idea why dont you fix the problem once and for all that, would be nice. I am not trying to get down on you guys i would just like to play the game with out having to reboottime and time again i understand it must be hard work for a bunch of computer wizards to keep a little ole game server cluster running at top performance im not one of those im an idiot when it comes to PC's and all related material but i do know this if things at my work that im in charge of ran the way your server does i would be looking for a new job really soon so lets do this right man we as paying customers deserve some uninterupted gaming :)

Would you ccp folks mind posting a short note on the eve-website when there is an unscheduled downtime imediatelly. And include an estimation, how long it takes. Perhaps even a reason, why the servers are down...
Servercrashes CAN happen. But please, keep us informed.

Edited by: bsspewer on 05/05/2004 18:23:07 calm down there captian stern, no need to click the submit button in a rage of panic.
And stop running to the forums to announce "server down". It's not like being booted out of game or not being able to log in isn't enough clue. Short reboots are common, and it has only been 10min or a few more by my clock. No need to go nuts over it.
When the server is down for more then an hour with no developer or moderator post mentioning a bit of the problem then complain all you want.
(i realize this is not going to help as i will be flamed for putting down "freedom of speech" and whatnot. These arguments will never end and it's probably wise if i ignore them from now on.)

OK here goes
I know your paying money for the game and the service CCP is provinding I know its not a happy moment when you cant connect to the game you love to play
But also
I know its not an easy job kepping a games like this runnig 100% smooth with no glitches... I know things can go wrong when computer and network are involved that sometimes are unforseeable..
I have the past years played countless of online massive multiplayer games and this is BY FAR the most stable game i have ever had the luck to get hooked on....
Just GIVE THEM A BREAK.....THEY ARE DOING A WODNERFULL job and for once learn to appreciate what you have......I know I have.....
Its unbelivable how many people can whine endlessly about small issues....

I have to agree with Maxim...the databases required to run a game such as this are enormous, and honestly it is amazing they work as well as they do.
Sure they did a hardware upgrade, but I do believe they only upgraded their FCA drives for database access, not the actual server cluster.
Still a damn sight better performance wise than it has any right to be, and they at least DO reboot when there is a severe problem.
