To:Prospective Employees From:SG Recruitment Staff CC: Date:5/5/2004 Re:Your Employment Opportunities
Sturmgrenadier and You
We have identified you as a prospective employee of the SG Corporation. In your review of our organization we would like to identify some of the key points to consider.
1. Sturmgrenadier (SG) is a long-standing corporation with an excellent reputation for employee support and benefits. We enjoy a large retention rate and have an extremely loyal player base. Our players put their individual needs second and the corporate goals first.
2. SG has been in business now for almost 4 years. We have longevity and a commitment to our employees not to enter into any venture with anything less than full commitment.
3. SG employees have the ability to draw on corporate assets to fully equip ships and to manufacture goods needed by the group.
4. SG has established protocols for sharing mining resources and payouts as well procedures for providing protection to mining expeditions.
5. SG is the example others strive to emulate. Professional communications (dedicated voice servers), professional marketing team (excellent web sites), large support team (over 800 members in over 5 portals with an average age of 24), mature management team (average age 35), excellent messaging (VERY active forums) and an enforced charter that outlines employee conduct.
In conclusion I would like to extend our appreciation for your consideration of our Corporation and hope to review your application very soon. Job Listings

It is understandable that you might balk at the idea of paying to join a gaming group. It is a new idea to most people, and many others have said similar things when they first found out we charge a subscription fee. Just so you understand, though, nobody is making a profit off of this deal.
The ANNUAL fee of $12 ($1 per month) gives you access to all of the SG portals, including our long-standing groups in WW2-online, Planetside, America's Army, and Star-Wars Galaxies. In addition, you can join our Worlds of Warcraft portal (already active in beta), and our Gateway section where we play various other games (Battlefield, City of Heroes, Lineage 2, etc.) in a less official manner.
The money goes mainly to support our web servers and forums, TeamSpeak servers, and game servers. Any money that is leftover is given back to the members in the form of prize drawings and merchandise offers (I have two spiffy Sturmgrenadier T-Shirts).
If you think it sounds cool, but you still aren't sure you want to pay the $12, then you can always quit after your 30-day trial is up.
Ask yourself what it is you are looking for in a gaming group. If you just want some people to help you get ahead faster, then SG is probably not for you. If, however, you want to be part of a mature group of dedicated players, who will work together to make sure that, as a group, we dominate the game in every way possible, then look no further.

Yes that's correct. Like it or lump it, SG would not be what it is today without the $12 yearly fee. It pays for our website servers/forum servers/multiple team speak servers and for the multiple give aways and contests.
There is a 30 day period where you do not have to pay a penny to see if you think it is worth it, i don't recall anybody that has decided it's not worth it and dropped out.
Also it's worth noting that your not just paying for eve access, once your in SG you can move/switch/join/leave any portal you want.
Look at it this way, there are over 800 people in SG and nobody complains about the fee, and trust me, none of us are stupid.

Edited by: Aerick Dawn on 06/05/2004 14:56:54 These guys know what they are doin, at least in WW2OL where they basically were the spearhead of any concerted german effort in their lines.
My account is in the Allied Strike Team, we've bumped heads in your operations area many many times for over a year. :) ______________________

I have handled application for Planetside in the past, we are very selective on who we let into SG in Planetside. The same goes for all of our portals. It is not about numbers; it is about finding players that fit in. SG is not for everyone; we are for players that take their gaming seriously and want to be with others that feel the same way. A common misconception. I played in Planetside for almost a year. We never did any mass recruiting (ie - taking anyone that applies). At our height, we were able to field around 60-70 players during prime time. The key is in how organized and efficient we are. Most people that have played on the Emerald server for any significant amount of time will list us among the most well-known and respected outfits in the game.
For those interested in joining, you need to go to www.sghq.com and click on the Eve link. Then click "Apply 4 Jobs" on the right side.

I've played World War 2 Online, Planetside and now Eve with SG and 'Zerg' does not apply unless you are implying that they can field large numbers. It's the organization which is the main factor in SG's success which also makes it fun if you are willing to accept it's environment. It is for mature gamers and if you fit that bill I'm sure you'll be impressed with their dedication and organization. This is the part that does NOT fit the unorganized chaos that 'zerg' usually refers to.

I actually was joined up with SG during the early months of WW2OL, and its not the numbers they field, its the quality. Their command and control is/was basically second to none in that game, and I am pretty sure they can migrate that knowledge here.

First of all, Planetside in itsself IS a Zerg. It's the nature of the game. Secondly, If you will pay close attention to SG's CoC, and recruitment polocies, no we do not open the door to anyone who rings the bell.
As for the fee, We have a Huge Teamspeak server, and several dedicated servers for games such as America's Army, Soldner, and any other player-server hosted games. These are high quality servers, not some kit running it off his second box.
Orginization and teamwork, coupled with a sizeable competent force, has always, and will always make us succesful.

Let me take a wild guess...... your corp is for 'professional' gamers, yet you can't read the rules on bumping, you must be the PR man.

Why would it be not ok to keep your recruiting post to the to so it can be seen?
Anyway, SG is now in talks with the CoD Alliance and hope to soon be on our way into 0.0 space after only 30 days or so into forming Sturmgrenadier, Inc. We are still a brand new Corp so if you are thinking that its to late to join and be apart of something bigger, think again.
Check us out while we continue to turn heads in the wonderful world of Eve. Spoon, Chairman and CEO Sturmgrenadier - Online Gaming Syndicate http://www.sghq.com |

I joined Sturmgrenadier about one year ago in the Planetside Beta. I have never stuck with a game for more than 3 months as you figure out the angles and get bored too quickly. With SG, we would try different tactics, learn from mistakes, apply new theory, organize event nights that we sometimes comical and other times devastating to the enemy. Yes, it we are a strong group...yes we do expect a certain level of participation...but we have become a respected name in the gaming community and are feared by our enemies. Most of the flame posts are usually our enemies OR those that got turned down trying to join SG.
