Ok, well I guess it got harder to get lucky and get an implant mission. But what are the ods on getting not a single implant when you have done enough missions to get to 3.82 standing with your agent from 0.0.
I have only not finished 1 mission because I forgot to talk to my agent after finishing it and I went to bed then.
Anyways, I think I should have gotten an implant by now...... ------------------------------ Audiofreaks ------------------------------ |

haha - thats nothing - i went from standing of 6 - 9.5 (much harder to move the higher end of the standing scale so thats many more missions) - basically some agents dont give em out.

Standing with agent is not important it is your corp standing which matters. Don't expect an implant below 4.0 or even 5.0 in standing with the corp.
You should run multiple missions, even with level 2 agents to get there then you can focus on one agent if you wish.

From 0.0 to 3.82...you first of all need a lvl 3 agent to even get an implant mission. They are also very rare.

It is possible Maidel, you are supposed to get the right corp standing before the Amarr standing though.

HAHA - i should point out i got the amarr standing from having a rating of 9.6 with the amarr navy and 2.5 with carth and hedion.... that is like 600-700 missions with amarr faction corps.

Am I just lucky?
The first important mission I got from my Freedom Extension Level 3 agent (something like -18 quality) was an implant mission. I then waited until I got another implant mission, which was my fifth important mission for him, before moving to a +18 (quality) agent. And the first mission I did for him (the very first) was an implant mission!
Which made it two straight in a row, although from different agents. I've been doing missions for the same agent for quite a while now, and get an implant every ~4-5 important missions.
If anyone wants to check the validity of this, open my character info in-game, check standings (liked by), right-click on Freedom Extension and choose show transactions. This will show all the missions I've done for them. Is that a handy tip or what?

Edited by: Kelly O'Connor on 06/05/2004 02:01:11 I've gone from 0-4.59 standing with Zainou biotech and a level 3 agent.
About 6 important missions, zero implants.
Did 4 missions for a wirykomi level 3 agent, fourth was an important courier mission, and I got an int +3 implants.
Kinda ****ed off atm :/

Papa Smurf's sticky post at the top of this forum explains why we get implant missions and why we don't
Originally by: Papa Smurf There are 8 important mission templates in the game at the moment. About 5 or so of them can be expected to work for any given agent, although some agents may have a couple more or less. Thus you have about a one in 5 chance per important mission that it will be an implant mission. Statistics do NOT say that this means 100% after 5 important missions. But it does say that if you haven't done about 10 important missions, you really shouldn't expect to have had an implant even if somebody else is on a winning streak, and thus shouldn't be screaming bloody murder on the forums.
Your wirykomi agent has between 5-8 important mission templates. One of them is an implant mission. So each time you get an important mission, you have an equally random chance of getting any from the important mission templates. You could have excellent luck and get back to back implant missions. Or you can get unlucky and not see one for much longer. Giving up after 6 important missions isn't even giving the agent a chance to give you an implant. You could get unlucky, though, and find that your agent has 8 important mission templates. By Papa Smurf's calculations, to have a 95% chance of getting an implant mission would take:
Originally by: Papa Smurf At 1/8 odds, if your agent happens to have all 8 important missions at his disposal, the total numbers would be about 276 normal + 23 important = 299 missions at 0 standings, or 161 normal + 23 important = 184 missions at 10 standings.
By all means, check out what I've said in Papa Smurf's Implant Mission Linkage
My SATI agent has 6 important mission templates, hence I've a 1 in 6 chance of getting an implant per important mission. I had a good run and was getting them every 3 missions for a while. I'm on a poorer run now, 9 important missions without an implant. But as my standing with him is up to 6.65 atm, I'm gonna stick with him as I get important missions much more often with him (every 13 missions max) than I would by changing to a whole new agent.

I'm a bit confused. I just returned to the game after a six month absence. Back then, you had to have an Outstanding rating with your agent (7.0 or 8.0 standing if I remember right) before the agent would start giving you Important missions.
Has that changed now? What conditions trigger Lvl 3 agents giving out Important missions?

Look at Papasmurfs post.
There are several threads about corps and which implants they hand out. All corps don't.

Actually I stopped doing missions for Zoar and Sons when I had standing 6. something because they were not giving me any implants anymore. Now I have got 4.11 With the Emperor Family and I have got 5.74 standing with Amarr.
Even though I haven't gotten an implant since I was about 4.6 with zoar and still nothing with the Emperor Family I see and hear ****loads of people getting implant when not even having standing 1 with their agents.
So mr. Smurf can write down all about how large the change is, if someone has got 0 -> 7.4 standing without any implants and I have had 0 -> 4.11 without a single implant and some others have the same then someone truelly made an error while writing their code.
Or while distributing the important missions, I think that it is wrong to punish agent runners, you only know for sure that your agent is not giving any when you spend months doing missions. And if you do not have any luck, then you get another agent who doesn;t hand out implants either.....
Then as an ultimate disaster: important missions aren't even a bit better then normal missions, so why have them in the first place? Gaining standing clearly doesn't mean anything so getting a better standing is no bonus at all.
I am sure that I will be back to pvp as soon as I have isk for insurance because this is pointless.
pvp != grieving missions == pointless ------------------------------ Audiofreaks ------------------------------ |

How do you know how many IM templates a given agent has? ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Unless you know someone who does missions for the agent you want to use, the only way you'll know how many IM templates an agent has is after you've done a good lot of important missions for him.
For my level 3 agent, I've done about 30 IMs for him and I've seen 6 different types of mission. I'd say that's a reasonable amount of missions to do to assume that I've seen all the ones he has available. In that time, I've received 5 implants (including my first one in ages last night) which works out pretty accurately as far as averages go.
