Most skills in this game have a bonus associated with training the skill. For Example, Interceptors may require Evasive Maneuvering 5 but that brings added agility to any ship you fly.
With the Anchoring skill you only get the ability to anchor new structures or satisfy a prerequisite for Starbase Defense Management. There is no added bonus from training the skill.
I know some people say anchoring times and pos management in general is intentionally designed to be a time sink to prevent spamming. But to be honest the spamming seems to occur none the less. Having different anchoring skill requirements for different structures does not reduce spam, it only increases barrier to entry - a barrier that diminishes as more people train the skill.
I would like to propose some possible anchoring skill bonuses:
+1 concurrent structure anchoring or onlining per level. This means at level 5 you can anchor or online 5 structures concurrently
-5% anchoring or onlining time per level
If anyone has ideas as to what bonuses anchoring should offer, or wants the status quo to prevail, please post now! -------------------

Agreed - every skill should provide some kind of bonus at every level. To my understanding, all the ship construction skills, Tactical Shield Manipulation, and Ethnic Relations all suffer from the same problem. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

Agreed. I always thought the Anchoring skill should provide benefits. Lord knows I wish it everytime I tend to all my POS.

You get to anchor bubbles and depending on the skill level determines the size and whether it is t2 or not.
Also that skill allows you to get into POS gunner I do believe.
I do agree that it would be nice to be able to affect the anchoring times and number of structures based on how much time you have to grind that skill to lvl 5.

Another bonus might be that anchored containers will stay in place longer, e.g., one fortnight per Anchoring skill level.
Overall, the database clean-up benefits of disappearing cans will remain, but those who use them and have higher skills won't need to visit their cans quite so often to avoid losing them.
EDIT: Previewing discarded my "Support this topic" check-box... something else to be fixed!

How about a queuing bonus?
+1 structure can be added to the anchoring or onlining queue. At level 5 you would be able to queue up 5 structures for anchoring -------------------

I think a -10% time bonuse is the best bonus. But all of them are good.
