So, is there some internal fear at CCP HQ, that 2-man Corps will suddenly start posting like crazy instead of using chat, and somehow 'accidentally' the whole system...?
Arbitrary limits like this are just silly. |

I know it's the first step, but we really need 2 things:
- create subforums - invite non-directors to the directors-board, as often ppl are involved in communications but don't have director-roles.

We will probably add more options later but we're purposefully starting with a relatively simple structure that should still be useful to most

This is actually how our moderation tools work right now and you guys have access to the same tools basically, just with modified roles so that you only have access to some features and only on your own corp forums of course.

I'm rather surprised about the 10 man minimum, but I guess you did have to put one somewhere. A forum for a 1 man corp would be rather pointless. .
But regardless of that, I think its a great thing to add. Its a small thing, but I can see how it could be quite convenient for some. |

How about creating completely pointless 14 day trial accounts for the sole purpose of circumventing the 10 man limit? or would it be worth waiting a few days for you to "make sure everything is working as intended" rather than messing about with the trial account service?
Not trolling, a simple "hang on a couple of days" would be ample feedback.

Nifty
One minor issue so far: When I entered the first time the newly created forums, I got this general disclaimer popup ("You're not in Kansas anymore" and so forth) - which vanished on its own too quickly, with me not knowing what the last sentences were about.

You might want to add a error message if you try to create a forum for a corp with less than 10 members... It's less then obvious why it doesn't work right now. |

Yeah - I had similar thoughts when that pop-up disappeared. Why not just make it a box that you have to close manually?

Edit; that said, I don't see any issues with these forums atm. Have activated ours, made two posts, moderated them around a bit. The only thing I noticed is it seems to take a few minutes to update, like how just after we had activated the forums, I left them and tried to enter them again - but it took 1-2mins before they were visible.
Other than that, no issues as of now. |

There is a problem with RSS feeds in corp forums. Since these forums are locked and you need to authenticate via a cookie before you can see them, external applications cannot read from them (like Google Reader). This is, from my understanding, an inherent problem with RSS readers.
It would be nice if we could pass along an authentication code with the feed URL. Perhaps even an API key, or maybe a authentication key that is solely used for the forums and can be found (and regenerated) in forum settings. This authentication key will check to see if the character associated with the key is able to view the forum, and if so displayed the RSS feed.
Just a thought for future iteration. =) |

I read about this notification issues... And, when you are looking at it, can you make that corp forums, and alliance forums in the future, have different color of notifications or something that make it different from the rest of forum notifications so that we can at first look see that there was post on our corp/alliance forums? |

I find it annoying that only 10 man corp can open forums. As ceo of new corp I would like to prepare forums for large membership but I am not able to do that as of now. Also providing error message that 10 members are required would be useful it is just bad coding of not catching run time errors on ccp part, they teach you that in first year of uni degree... |

Well, basically the idea is not really bad to stop the flood of corp forums. I ran into the size restriction. Now, I have 4 more alts and 10 pilots in corp, hence the restriction is gone.
Do you, CCP, really want force each and every small corp that does not want to wait to create enough alts to overcome the restriction?
To all those corps, contact me, I have 4 toons available to move around.
