Edited by: Plumpy McPudding on 30/05/2008 04:26:03 Other than getting the item at the cheapest possible, what is the advantage here since everything will be interspersed all over the place making resale a lot slower and difficult. Using courier is probably only worth it for high-priced goods since the service won't run you in the red. Anyone else help me out here?
Thank you kindly

Volume...if you need a ton of stuff, you can get it faster buying from the whole region.
Also, most stuff clumps up in popular mission hubs anyhow.

If you haven't noticed... 0.0 isn't too populated with stations. Sometimes there are only a handful of stations in an entire region. Regional buy orders are a very handy if you need to cast your net out far enough.

To be honest, even setting 10 jump orders requires a lot of hauling about, so you may aswell set it to region.

This, and for the OP just a small advice that may help. Multiple system wide orders can be your friend and used to great advantage to avoid the bidding wars that inevitably pop up with region wide orders. |

Generally 1 region wide buy order, can be a waste, but if you are buying 200 different items region wide, then each station will end up with a nice little pile of different items to make it worth visiting.

When you have an item that is high turnover at current prices (i.e. price is not overly high for the market) and people have a bunch of station buy orders for say 250k, and sales are happening at say 750k, and you put a region buy order out for sale 200.00 ISK...and a bunch of mission runners fill them. Especially if you are working with small amounts of capital (i.e. you can't spare the money to escrow as much as it would cost to buy it local to sell it), it is worth doing the semi-afk wandering around.
Or, equally, if you have the skills to buy/sell from afar. In general, the place where people are getting certain items out of missions is where they also need them...people don't hang on to stuff because they in particular don't need em. An example might, for instance, be a particular item that drops regularly from lvl 2 missions that lvl 2 missions runners really want to have (CCP, when putting their game together, have it drop the kind of stuff people in that race need...who would have thought...not always, but you can pick em). You buy for 200 isk from people who have too many or otherwise don't want to hang onto it (and are too silly to know the just refine the thing...), sell for 50k, and never move a muscle...and the person on average will sell it to you in the same station that a person on average will want to buy it at.
