It is no different from people posting kill mails this is the Crime and Punishment subforum where people are supposed to discuss piracy, their successes and in this case their failures.
Next, you posted a non sequitor that is Latin for "does not follow" your sentence has no relation and in fact directly contradicts the quotes passage from the rules. If the rules say "be respectful" then it says be respectful even if by some stretch of the imagination a post could be construed as "flame bait" which by YOUR definition is every post in the game that isn't yours you are above all asked to be courteous and respectful and if your not it is the GM's job to police the thread and ensure people are posting in accordance to the rules that by default everyone agreed to in order to post at these forums.

While I do see the "logic" of what you typed here, what I wrote was not a non sequitur at all. I said, "these are the rules, BUT, while this IS the rule, I find that the GMs and Devs are smarter than posters like you and they understand when posters like you make stupid posts you're going to get flamed and so they give a bit of leeway.

The flaw in that logic I should point out is that EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN thread is flame bait because unerringly there is inevitably one troll who flames it.
Some threads are "troll" threads some are "not particularly important threads" and the rest and the vast majority are relevant to their sub forum. The first kind should be closed upon their discovery usually any thread involves someone threatening to quit EVE if X demands aren't met.
HOWEVER even in the worst possible drivel of thread as long as no racial slurs were thrown the rules about be "courteous" and "polite" are rock solid and it is the moderators jobs to clean up dirty language even if by simply posting here they brought upon the flames.
Ergo the rules need to be enforced no exceptions, with zero tolerance and as such no matter what the moderators are paid to do a job, are paid for the grinding work they do, heck it could be worse they could be shoveling gravel for a living and if they do not do their job and clean up threads which have degenerated into name calling then they should be fired and replaced.
