Edited by: Caelum Dominus on 30/05/2008 10:35:03 "Pleasework" is a selection of encounters I've stumbled upon during the past few weeks. Over the course of countless hours of tinkering with Adobe Premiere, it has evolved from a mere experiment to a little something I'd like to share with the community.
Download: http://files.filefront.com/pleaseworkmov/;10416723;/fileinfo.html
Please do not be alarmed by the umfamiliar extension - if you are courteous, it will not eat your computer. A .mov file is a Quicktime Movie File, which is really quite similar to an .MKV file since both are H264. In fact, the only notable difference is that it requires Apple's Quicktime to play. Chances are you already have this installed, as it is required to run iTunes and a number of other popular applications. If you somehow don't have it installed, you might as well install it sooner rather than later (... or DEATH!).
Ships featured: Taranis, Sacrilege Length: 8 minutes Resolution: 1440x900 Filesize: 283mb Hidden muffins within: 13.1

I regret to say that Premiere for Mac has certain limitations that makes this impossible - it cannot export to AVI, which in turn makes it impossible to convert it into MKV.

I thought it might - as far as I know it only accepts .AVI files. That's where my problems start. Thanks for your effort, though. =)

I'm using that program now, and it's awesome.
And if you need codecs, then just download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack on the same site.

Sorry but not impressed at all.
I already know a nano-sac can kill t1 cruisers and interceptors, and the Taranis stuff was clumsy. The one fight in which you fight a battleship (shooting support however many km from a cruise raven isn't really fighting one) you drop your point on him and miss the kill in favour of shooting a nemesis 100km away.
There wasn't anything fundamentally wrong with your ability to PVP for the most part, and I'm sure you can do better than killing vexors and celestis in a HAC - but this was all just killing noobs for sport tbh.

I never intended this to be a showcase of how awesome I am. As I stated in the description, it was more of an experiment with Premiere that eventually evolved it something I thought could prove somewhat entertaining to more people than myself. I agree with you - none of the fights featured are particularly groundbreaking.
As for the fight you are referring to, I beg to differ - it's fairly obvious that my tank wouldn't hold for very long, as I was losing another 15%-ish for every cycle. Also, how was the Taranis footage "clumsy", exactly?

I will certainly be more picky about the footage I include in any future videos, though - thanks for your feedback. =)
Not trying to flame you, sorry if it came across that way - with the Raven, I'd have stuck with it a bit longer before breaking off for the Nemesis; you don't know how his cap was doing, afterall, and considering the number of clownshoe Raven fittings that pop up all over the place, it wouldn't have surprised me if he'd been burning up his cap and could suddenly drop like a house of cards, but I'm speculating. :)
The Taranis stuff was clumsy because you were moving too much, meaning you missed a fair bit - running mwd constantly while in web range and continuing to move around your target isn't tracking friendly when you're shooting at an Inty, and is even more counterproductive when its a Crow that doesn't need to track itself.
Ultimately they died anyway, as they were clumsy enough to get webbed in the first place (not to say your piloting didn't contribute, but meh, a Crow is faster and has longer range, there's no reason for a good pilot to get webbed at all) so it doesn't really matter, but it could make a difference in the future to give your tracking an easier ride :p
Anyway, I don't want to derail your video thread too much, I'll watch out for your next one and see how that one goes

I can't say I agree - in the first fight featured, both ships were webbed and I'd be left floating at 7-8km and die horribly if I had decided to disengage my MWD in favour of tracking I don't really need. In the second fight you might be right, however having reviewed the footage it seems tracking was no issue.

Forgive me for suggesting this, but I think you might be theorycrafting here? When you're doing 7km/s, trying to keep between 13km and 24km of another agile ship doing 5km/s often proves quite problematic if the latter has some tricks up his sleeve.
