I fly the Phobos.
I fit a plate and some other stuff to make it armor tank nicely.
My warp disruption field generator has different effects on my ship in null-sec (no script) than in Empire space. (with the script loaded).
Question: *With the bubble up my MWD slows down so i might as well not use it. Does that affect ALL ships in range or just me?
*I hear I can't be remote repaired. Why is that? Am I invulnerable to being targeted by friendlies? Who's the rudest of them all! |

Just you.
And it's the same as a carrier in triage or dread in siege, you can be targeted but simply not activate such modules on them. Parrots, commence!

If you are in a fleet fight you will die. So you might as well uber tank it to make it last longer. fit 75 gatling rails in the highslots... or even better use a light interdictor
In small scle engagement it is great because it has more dps and tank than a dictor. I.e. you can help overcome enemy tanks AND hope to survive if all goes to plan. Useful tactic against single target: Use unsctipted, the moment it decloaks deactivate oncethe field is down load script and hit him again. Perhaps 1 in 1000 targets will escape in the 2 second window.
However if you can fly another race use your phobos for lowsec and that for 0.0. Blasters + disabled mwd = lose, while the range/tracking/damage chart of meduim rails is ridiculous IMO.
Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

I can only fly Phobos. Need to train other race cruiser skill to V.
So, which would you recommend for 0.0 fleet ops? Who's the rudest of them all! |

Phobos and Devoter are superb for plated buffer tanking, tho Broadsword and Onyx provide comparable buffer along with a superb passive shield regeneration. That means that after a fight, the Phobos and the Devoter will probably need some remote lovin, while the shield tanking beast will not, as they will regenerate shields by themselves (an without cap probs) quite fast. Also, for prolonged fights, the effective buffer is actually bigger in passive shield tanking HICs.
So choose to train for minmatar cruiser V should you like to also "unlock" Huginn/Rapier, Vaga, or go for Gallente if you like Falcons (yeah, the "broken" one - lol) or the likes...

Broadsword is the one I fly, and I love it. The tank is amazing. My setup:
5 dual 180mm's, high slot point thingy
mwd, invuln II, photon II, 3 lse II
gyrostab II, 2 pdu II and a dcu II
rigs: core defence field extenders, 2 or 3 of them cant remember how many rig slots it has.
Has 17k shields, 88 em, 87 kinetic, 81 thermal and 77 explosive (ccp failure nerf).

Heavy dictors do not belong in larger fights, only lag saves them.
The only special occasion is the lone super cap, anything else and a light dictor can do the same job but with a little more chance to survive.

Photon II? Last I looked matari had a wicked em resist due to their conflict with amarr. Some thing's definitely wrong here. ---
