Basically, I'm looking for the best ship available for ratting Sansha in 0.0. I'll be living in a region with practically no market, so ammo etc. will be an arse to get hold of.
With that in mind what ship do people reckon is best?
I was thinking of an Absolution, since it aligns faster than most BS, has good DPS, and infinite ammo, as well as a nice tank and the carebear spare highslot (not for a cloak...honest!!)
Any other suggestions? I can pretty much fly any sub-cap ship.

When I was living in esoteria I used a domi. It's got an awesome tank so you can survive the 3x overlord spawns and with good BS and drone skills you can burn down the rats w no ammo usage. Fit some remote reps in the highs to keep your drones healthy and you're golden.

I was thinking of using a Domi or an Ishtar, but the DPS on them is pretty low, about 466 I think with my skills and Ogre IIs.

I don't know what DPS I was getting but it burned them down pretty fast. I was doing something similar to
3xdrone range, 2x rr, cloak omni, drone mwd, sensor booster, cap reps tank

Sanshas also drop more lenses if you happen to need more. Geddon works just fine with 7 guns and tractor beam or cloak and it¦s really cheap.
I¦m sure Abso/Harbinger also work nicely, just fit enough tank and gank.

The megapulse apoc works very well. Amarr navy multifreqs + Megapulses = melts sansha's very quickly. Make sure you have a heatsink, 4 hardeners, a LAR II, and a DCU in the lows. Easily tanks any Sansha's setup I've encountered so far, including the 3x overlords. Easily
My setup is
8x Afocal Pulse Maser I's (Amarr Navy Multifrequency) 4x Cap Recharger II's 2x N-Type EM Hardener 2x N-Type Thermal Hardener 1x Large Armor Repairer II 1x Extruded Heatsink(Haven't felt like training WU IV yet :P) 1x Damage Control II 5x Hammerhead II I think that's it. Rips through them...although you might want to switch out a CR II for a webber.

Armageddon - Sansha Bane
Damage Control N-type Thermic Hardener N-Type EM Hardener 1600mm plate Large Armour repper Heat Sink II x3
MWD Cap Recharger II x2
Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam x6 (I carry Navy Gammas and Radios) Tractor Beam Salvager
Ogre x5
That's up to 850 dps (600 with my crappy skills), and enough tank that Sanshas won't be a threat. As with any Amarr ship, you'll need good cap skills if you want perfect stability without CCCs.
The tractor and salvager is an important addition to your ship if you don't have a nearby market, as salvaged loot is very small, and you won't be able to cart around masses of normal crap loot.
Don't worry about align times, you should be aligning for the next belt as you melt the final battleship, then tractor in wrecks, salvage and warp out.

Domi + good Drone-skills + T2 Sentry drones = warp in, park, let the dogs out and watch the mayham while you're leaning back having a good cup of coffee watching your dual LAR IIs perma-run.

I'd say geddon.
7x Megapulse II/Tractor
MWD Heavy Cap Booster/800s TC II
3-4HS II, LAR II(MAR should even cut it), EM II, Therm II, 1-2 CPR/RCU? I forget the fitting.
5x Ogre IIs
CCCs/SMCs/Optimal range rigs per preference.
Should have a stupid amount of DPS. MWD to target, *****it silly, use tractor to loot Cap 800s. Rinse and repeat.

Abaddon or Gedon, great range and great DPS with Mega Puls they wast Sanshas very fast.
Absolution isn¦t bad, but a BS will be faster and cheaper(afer Insurace) if you get caugt. ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank!

What kind of range do you get with Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam x6 and Navy Gammas/Radios? I've found that I get about 14km optimal with them, with is why I've been sticking to Mega Modulated Energy Beam so far, expect fitting 6 of them requires a extra RCUII to get the required PG for the fitting..

Edited by: Qui Shon on 27/06/2008 10:40:54 If you just care about killing the rats, only stopping to loot if you get faction/off spawn, as I'm reading the OP, then...
Megapulse + Ogres do not have the range/speed to be efficient. Way too much time is wasted closing the distance, unless you use Scorch in which case you'll have some ammo consumption.
Can you live without an MWD?
I can't use T2 lasers, but I found T1 Tachs + Curators were a vast improvement in speed compared to T1 Pulse + Ogres, though the fitting is a *****.
If you can do without mwd, then the following fits without implants (AWU 5, Drone rigging 4), and I bet it gets the job (as specified on line 1 of this post) done much quicker then anything comparable in cost.
7x Modulated tach, tractor/proto cloak F-90 SensBoost, CR II, (Lif AB/Omnidirectional/CR II) 3x T2 HS, Med Accommodation repper, N-Type EM + Therm hard., 2x Beta RCU
2x Sentry drone dmg rigs
4x T2 Curators, 5x Hobgobs
The lif is only in case there's a loot drop you want to get, but with cloak + lif you have to use named cr. If you skip the AB, which I probably would, fitting becomes much easier.
Only 876dps with my skills (L4 BS, L4 lazor) but available the instant you lock the rat after coming out of warp, which doesn't take long with the sensboost, and you can initiate warp to the next belt halfway through the last rat. IIRC, the way I timed it, in seconds spent / belt, it was a toss up between 3x HS, or 2x HS + Istab.
In my short test, I only got one faction/commander spawn, had a TS tower BPC or something like that, don't remember the name or bounty exactly. No problems with cap or tank at any point.
Similarly, I would argue a Sentry Domi with 6x 350mm rails is the fastest Serpentis/Gurista ratter for a reasonable price, as long as the measuring stick is seconds/belt, without looting.
If you have to have an mwd, then I guess you have to go megapulse route instead.

well I like to have a mwd, just in case the rats turn out to be 50kms away from me,one burst of MWD solves that, also I've found it to be useful in outrunning warpscramming rats when I'm farming a belt.I usually loot and salvage my wrecks,as i rat 2 jumps away from a station that we stage out of,and have a pos and 3 GSC's anchored in the system, for easier storage, but I was trying to find a setup that did reasonable damage in a geddon at 30+ range and could run a LARII without worrying about cap,as right now, I have to closely watch when I use it,as megapulses + repper+hardeners together kill my cap very quickly.
