Anyone with experience to this kind of gang combat? I'm thinking it could be really fun for Ganking Frigates -> T2 Cruisers? maybe? :o
I'm not sure on how good the alpha damage is in reality tho to do serious damage to a large target than a ceptor.
According to ETF with my half assed Missile skills i get about 2300 Alpha on a non resistant target which is quite pro for a small frigate imo.
So if i team up with 3 other pilots this is nearly coming to 10k volley from all of us, sounds good on paper, but how good in reality?
Also some tips on my purifier setup would be nice, and tips on how to fly them safely, and most efficiently. I assume getting prey will be hard in one of these ships as no "close and dirty" tactics.
Atm im running:
3 XT Cruise launchers Proto Cloak
Sensor booster MWD
BCU II BCU II Co-Proc

drop the MWD and co proc and fit an istab.
Or keep the coproc and fit a sensor damp and bombard from range. -------------

Sit in a belt with a cloaked ECM ship and a supertanked Maller or Drake as bait and let them come to you.

You might be better served by having one of your four friends fly a tackler, like a Malediction - which can tackle from upwards of 28-30KMs. Then you do what stealth bombers are best at - staying faaaaar away:
Overdrive Injector System II 2x Ballistic Control System II
3x Supplemental Scanning CPU I, 1 Targeting Speed script, 2 Targeting Range scripts
3x 'Malkuth' Cruise Launcher I, Caldari Navy Paradise Cruise Missile Improved Cloaking Device II
I know I don't have Arbalests on there. They are ridiculously expensive for a ship so easy to pop in a single volley. Besides, as you've noticed, the strength of the SB is not in it's DPS, but it's volley damage - which remains constant regardless of the launcher.
Also, a lot of people will tell you to fit sensor dampeners. I'm not one of them; my brother flies a Manticore and has tried it. In the Age of Nano any ship you could pop will be on top of you before you even finish pressing the buttons. SDs would only be beneficial if, once again, you had a tackler and wanted to keep the target from hurting him.
All-stealth bomber gangs are only feasible when they have more than what you are talking about. In zero sec, we have had SB gangs with like ten people in them and that can be wild.
For me, SBs are about gatecamping and only uncloaking to fire after the enemy has already engaged your friends up close. There you are sitting at 150KMs while targets are being webbed and shot by your gangmates. Your big aplha strike is appreciated -- and any scouts that reported on your gatecamp never saw you cloaked when they reported back your numbers. -- Meridius Dex --

If you sit at 150k the hostile ship will already be dead or deagressed. Sit at 50k from gate and spread around. Align uncloak fire. As soon as one approaches just warp off and back in again.

SB's are great fun. I like to get a gang of 1 inty and 3 SB's and go roaming through low sec.
The inty stays 1 jump ahead scouting for targets. If one is found the inty scrams and the stealth bombers pile in and warp to 70km then BOSH!
Granted, with these tactics any ships could be used instead of the stealth bomber, but I just love the fact that 3 pesky little frigs are dishing out more dps than a raven plus I love the firework display :)
You could even add the webbing electronic attack frigate to the mix to take on nano ships (forget the name) |

And what keeps the targets from simply warping away? You need interceptors/interdictors with you to tackle or it's just meaningless.

well if you plan on going into 0.0 with it i recomnd a big bubble, a hyena and 3 bombers... Playing minmatar is "like going down a flight of stairs in a office chair firing an Uzi". |

And as close to the bubble as you dare to minimize flight time of missiles. "Ruppie ain't no puppie." |

I think no one read the post - the bombs away approach works, keep the bomb types the same and practice formation - the overlap on detonation can be mean as hell...been on both sides of it.
BTW - if you time it right, you can wreck a BC and hurt a BS (getting lucky)
Best tactic is 2 waves of 3 1st wave drops the void to break tanks and drop cap enough to effect MW and warp aways, next wave right after detonation pops them.
