While I think the Goons' actions are lame, complaining about it on a hardcore PvP server is stupid. It's one thing in Eve, where there's only one server (but that's an entirely different argument altogether), but it's ridiculous when you have PvE servers to use instead.
When there's the choice of a PvE server (which, I assume, has optional PvP), and PvP-dedicated one, why complain that the PvP ones are harsh? Just go to a different server, not necessarily a PvE one even.
Once again, I don't condone the Goons' actions, but when there's a choice of this or not (at all), Funcom just looks stupid for their actions. Let the PvP servers do what they want as long as no one's hacking or exploiting. But enforce the rules on PvE servers as one would think they should.
PS - One would think this was happening on a PvE server the way the drama is unfolding. Instead it's, "OMG, people are killing each other on a PvP server? How dare they!"

The Goons aren't there to play a game. They're there to cause trouble for everyone, players and devs all.
I agree with this sentiment, but come on, it was on a PvP server for Zeus' sake. If they were doing something untoward on a PvE server I could see the point, but as the guy above said, "PvPing on a PvP server? The Nerve."

Does anyone else think that the devs and GMs over at Funcom need to actually READ, and re-read, the original Conan books? I just don't see how they are upholding the spirit of the franchise by reacting the way they are. It's almost like saying: "You play a bloodthirsty, amoral killer, but you can't actually kill anyone." The Belkster would be ****ed.
Yes, Goons are disgusting and should be... ignored, really. They want attention almost as much as Jack Thompson. Give it to them, and they're exultant. Ignore them and they'll go away.

Difference is AoC isn't Funcoms first MMO and worldwide PvP and static respawns is never a good idea, aspiring MMO developers take note.
Yeah, when you've done this before and have access to tons of examples from other projects, there's really no excuse for making the same mistakes over again. If others have proven something is a bad idea, DON'T do it.
There's ample evidence of the sorts of mechanics players will take advantage of or exploit. Why game companies still include them I'll never know.
