Ive played solo off and on for almost 3 years now and im closing in on 7.5mil sp. I have a couple battleships and can almost use large t2 rails. Ive been pretty content dong my own thing but i was wondering when is a good time join a corp and to start ventureing out of empire and into low sec.

There is no ONE answer to that question.
Take my own corp. We have ppl that joined barely 1 day old and dove right into 0.0 and some that joined up with 40-50m skillponts after being solo for all that time.
The only thing that is the achilles heel about joining is to find a corp that shares your view of a "good time", and obviously an ACTIVE group.
More often than not I see ppl complain "i joined this corp, but im the only one talking in corp chat/only one online".
Find the right bunch of people and EVE adds alot of fun just thru the social aspect.
Good luck! |

It's a question more suited to general.
People posting here in an NPC corporation or without their corp/alliance name showing get their posts edited and locked.

you join a corp when you feel the urge.
Thats the beuty of eve, there is no trend to be followed, you do your thing when your ready.
However, your SP are somewhat low, even for an on and off player, you might want to look at an alliance like goon swarm as you skill points will exceeded any expectations they may have.

I moved from my NPC corp to a small empire corp when I was around 6 months old, and from memory I had less Sp than you (had a month off which didn't help).
You should join a corp when you feel you are ready, and you can always move back to the NPC corp if you find that you like it more.
And as for your PvP experiance, it will be alot easier to get better at PvP if you are in a player corp which can be war decced etc. -------- Billy Jean is not my lover |

Easy. The best time to join a corp was almost 3 years ago. :-) The best time to venture out into the wilderness is whenever you want to try it. Helps to be in a corp for that though. But it's not too late.
Also - has almost nothing to do with your SP. --- ISK BUYER = LOOSER EVE TV- Bring it back!

Empire/solo game play is COMPLETELY different from deep 0.0 alliance gameplay.
Empire gameplay is normally agent missions, a bit of trading in jita and maybe a wardecs.
0.0 gameplay is all about politics and territory. Smack is laid down in local or COAD and this translates to massive fights in-game to capture territory.
Lo-sec is not what it used to be since the introduction of jump portals, so ignore it.
As long as you can fly a battlecruiser with guns and be active, many 0.0 alliances will have you. Then you can join the smack-fest because you have not really played eve till you do. Honest, it is fun, what have you got to loose.

7.5 mil sp is, at the most, 8 months or so of training (typically a lot less), and you train whether you play or not. Just need to log in now and then to start up a new skill training.

you only train if you log in and set the skill. if you are ignoreing the game entirely you tend to not log in hence why my sp is low. by playing off and on i dont mean keeping an active account i mean maybe playing for a month or so then canceling untill i feel like playing again.

eve is not about isk, or items space.
its about the people you play with, playing eve on your own gets very boring no wonder you didnt stay long.
playing ina corp and making friends getting drunk on vent on a friday and going roaming nothing like it.
butat the end of the day if you want a corp, family then you should look for one and one with active members in your time zone

Dude wtf 3 years??! You don't see much of this game or have much fun on your own. You should have joined a corp after the trial and the game could have been so much different for you you would never want to leave at all.
Of course it may take a few tries before you find the right corp, I myself wasted way to much time in a empire corp where npcing and missions and mining was the norm all days of the year.
But then I got into 0.0 and slowly learned to love PVP and it only got better. Its what still keeps me subscribed.
Join a corp I say! Just stay clear of those that sounds like a scam that want to shoot you legaly or a farming corp where you toil for someone else.
