I think there will be some kind of a random lottery that will award some unique item. So don't sell yours.

Hmm, that would be THE wasy to dump some shiny new tech into the game actually.
But I wouldnt know what they would ships in this way ?
Cause tech 2 BP's would be met with howling by fruitless researchers, tech3 is out of the question as are jumpdrives (tho no-one seems to get that).
The new elite frigs havent been tested yet afaik and are still some way off.
Might it be some kind of Shiva thing ? Where they randomly raffle a few mobile refinery 1run BP's ?
Anyway, I wouldnt expect anything to come soon.
And imo the blackmarket thing shows the most promise atm. or otherwise some long term upswing to jove space. Maybe all owners of these items get one free visit to jove space :).
(if they do that im gonna log off my alt there and never leave again)

I should think there will be a future event according to the dev blog on the matter. I am keeping hold of mine untill we see what happens. How can anyone place a value tag on these yet without knowing what they are for?

As has been stated before, the loss of the Jovian Ambassador was not the end of the event, rather the start of the story. There will be events and stories to follow.

Keep the body parts. I'll bet they will be needed when you want to create a Jove Clone!
Because if your an old timer like me you will remember the concept of players becoming Jove. This (hopefully) will be the start of it.

Perhaps if you collect all (six at last count) types of body, you can become or reconstruct a Jovian character, giving you possible access or the ability to use Jovian technology. Kinda like the Jedis from SWGs...

My take on this is simply that CCP is sitting back laughing their asses off at everyone and the pieces REALLY don't mean squat.

Joves and genetic engineering go hand in hand. Possible options
1. Jove plot to disperse biological agents
2. A la 5th element, Jove DNA is millions of times more memory intense and has information hardcoded for new biotechnologies
3. Used to unlock Jove character
4. Jove offer rewards for the pieces, initiating a series of missions to get the piece to them, and in the proper "conditon"
