hi, im a bit new here so chill ;)
anyhow,
i have some horrible performance in this game, get like 15 FPS and if i turn AA its like 10 FPS i have the Catalyst 4.4 and i have a Radeon 9700 i run at 1024x768 24bit color ingame AMD 2400+ 1024MB DDR RAM Radeon 9700 Cat 4.4 (it was even more horrible with 3.9) Windows XP PRO
so... whats up? i love this game.. but i want it to run smoothly.. and i hear from people with lower systems then me, that they run it at a huge Resolution with 16x Anti aliasing and stuff...
so can someone help me?

I run:
AthlonXP 2700 Win XP Pro ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Cat 4.4 drivers) 1280x960 resolution Audigy 2 soundcard 1.5GB of DDR RAM
Don't even bother trying to measure your performance when running windowed. Eve in windowed mode = massive CPU hog because it isn't your graphic card doing the work (windowed is treat as a program rather than game).
The specs above allow me to run fullscreen with maximum graphics option with no video lag and not a bit of network lag (when the servers are behaving).

Repeat previous poster:
"press ctrl+alt+del and check if some process is taking a lot of cpu power."
If you feel this will not provide you with results then run Performance Monitor (easy way >> Start->Run->Perfmon (enter) ). Darwin 4tw

Try using this guide to optimize your winXP - it's not for beginners but isn't that difficult to follow.

Click Start, Run, type "dxdiag", and go through each of the tabbed screens.
At the bottom of each screen is a report. It should mention any problems with graphics/sound stuff there.

ok now the reason i asked that question is because i have a audgy to and i have the same problem.
I belive that EVE runs smoth on computers without EAX Sound. i dont know if eve has a auto detect. if it has it's bad. cause EAX dosent run verry good with all games. for ex. BF vietnam.
If somone from ccp dosent come with a sugestion on how to switch sound from EAX to sterio then i cant think of anything that can help.
ps i still have the same framerate if i max my radeon 9800 xt with aa and an.

Did you uninstall the drivers. cause just taking out the card wont do anything.

ok forget everything i bull****ed about. try hanging your "adapter refreshrate" (fullscreen) to 120 and higher. it doubbled my fps.

That's probably because you had v-sync enabled which limits your refresh rate in the game to the refresh rate of your monitor.
You may get better fps but you might see more texture ripping.
