Hey Gents.
As a corperation, were looking forward to the up and comming release. We fully expect it to give piracy the uplift it's been long looking forward to with the influx of players looking for a fight in low-sec.
Here's my question.
As we currently don't intend on commiting our pilots to a faction, will shooting pilots belonging to one of the npc factions result in a standinds loss against that faction ? I assume it won't or as a fairly active pirate corp we would be very quickly lose our existing standings with no physical way of recovering them once they drop below -2.
Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

I think it will reduce ur standing. U anyway noticed when u kill a member of a noobcorp in lowsec u lose some standings with them. So i think when FW comes it will be the same. When u kill someone of npc fw corp u will lose standing to this faction.

I seriously hope thats not the case or every pirate has to make a decision to continue pirating or enlist in a faction before his standings drop beyond repair.
This would result in a vast number of accounts being effectivly blocked from faction warfare in the future. I'm sure there are a lot of players who dont want to rush into fw until they have had a chance to see the effects its going to have on the game.
Any chance we could have a dev response on this, I think its important we have this confirmed pre-patch.
Many thanks Scrutts

Guess you just gotta let the FW peeps roam lowsec unmolested for a while till you see a forum whine from someone who ganked a whole fleet and got -8 faction standings. haha! ::insert witty signature here:: |

It's probably possible to find out by going onto SiSi and running a few tests. Just get a friend (or alt) to join up with one of the militias, and then shoot the hell out of them and see what happens to your standings.

edit: and yes, you do lose standings...
it makes sense though, you are shooting at the faction's militia.. you are hampering their war effort and aiding the enemy =P
of course they will not like you as a result if you get in their way long enough =P

This only makes sense really.
I mean, if I'm in Caldari space massacring caldari FW and non-FW members en masse, I guess Gallente would like that at wartime. Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

I should be a hero for Gallente then after killing hundreds and hundreds of Caldari.
Seriously, do you have how horrible it is? They're just piling through to die and are a waste of ammo most of the time, with their 'open hangar with rat loot -> select all -> fit to ship' fitting practices. Seriously, Gallente Federation needs to start subsidizing Barrage M for exterminating wave after wave of the horribly fitted Caracal flying bastards.

More than happy to deasl with it, juts wanted clarification before the patch goes live.
Quite ironical you corp is called post with your brain and yet you post a rather obnoxious reply to a valid question.

Awesome. Lets make pirates check the corp tags and standings of every single target before they lock and shoot. That'll be great.

We already have our consequences. Lumping more on us isn't neccesary but I guess we WILL have to deal with. ---

I think the problem might lie in cross racial FW, example noob327 creates a gallente alt and then goes off to fight for the caldari navy for a while (Traitor!) FW comes out our noob327 defaults back to his NPC corp which would be a gallente corp but due to his standings he joins the caldari for FW.
Now what happens when a true patriot (Me for example) pops this traitor? I get a standing hit with the gallente noob corp, at least as i currently understand the mechanics that is what would happen, could be wrong.
That's kinda wrong IMHO.

I don't think you mean what you think you mean.
If he joins the Caldari Militia, then he'll be in a Caldari corp, and you will lose faction with that Caldari corp.

Okay so you can't participate in faction warfare and still be in a NPC noob corp great that's actualy smart question kinda remains though, what if someone who is in a noobcorp shows up at the FW mission site fighting for the other side and i pop them i would then incur the standing penalty with my own (Or an allied) NPC noob corp.
Not quite what i understood at the begining you're right but still kinda wrong :)

If you are in a noob corp, fly to a lowsec area and start poppin' members of the Caldari Militia -- regardless of where they are from -- you will lose standing towards both the Caldari faction and the Caldari Militia. I'm not sure what part of that is hard to understand, but hopefully this cleared it up for you.

If I get positive standings on a faction by shooting their enemies, the game is open for exploiting...
Let's say I go and fight for the Caldari => I shoot the Galente.
When I'm about to screw up my standings with Galente forever, I switch sides and I start fighting for Galente, against Caldari. Then I switch sides again, and again, and again.
I get my pew-pew fix, I keep my standings to a decent amount... and basically I help FW to become even more ridiculous than already is.

I can't check my Faction right now on my main but I wonder how bad it is since I've killed Brutor tribe for a year . If I can't join the FW stuff I'll just grief the hell out of them without taking breaks to atleast try it.
