Originally by: Pteranodon Most ships in Eve can passive shield tank-some can do it better than others. If you passive shield tank you can train compensation skills. Where's my compensation skills for armor tanking? because I need them when my cap is dead & I have no weapons or capability to repair myself.
Are you seriously suggesting that I should passive shield tank a Mega, Pest or Apoc? I shield tank ok, if my Maels active tank is broken the ship blows up regardless of what level you have your compensations at...in fact what you should do is on your armour tanking char is train up shield tanking skills that way you can too benefit from the amazing regen you get from them on a active tanking ship or do what anyone else does in Eve and cross train.
Passive armour tanks would have to work exactly like passive shield tanks to make them viable. So once again why are you asking for armour tanking to be exactly like shield tanking and vice-versa?

The only change to armor repairing I would like to see it allow us to use armor repair drones on our own ships!

Or you could just ask for shield tanking to be taken out of the game then everyone has to armour tank then we won't have this problem at all...

I'm almost exclusively an armor-tanker, but when you can have some battleships reach 35-40k of armor, a passive recharge isn't a good idea if you want balance. ------------------------------------------

What you are asking for already exists - if you are low on cap, you can still rep your armor, just very slowly - regen a small amount of cap, do one rep, wait ages, repeat.
If you are being continually neutralised to 0, never above, then you need to ADAPT to the situation, not whine for the whole game to be changed. You need to mitigate the opponents ability to cap you out to that degree. _______________________________________________ Mercenary Forces |

What's a shield?
But, of course, shield drones as well. |

Shield and armor tanking are not the same, dont try to put it like that or we will have crazy stuff like:
Passive invulnerability field (like eanm) XL-Shield Extender (like 1600 plate)
and etc... If you are beign neuted to hell, fit a cap booster and time it well, dont just run it on automatic, click boost and click repair, done...
