Please make it an option for us to opt out of the profanity filter. It's rather annoying to have to try and figure out what was said because someone's definition of profanity happens to be a standard part of a non-profane word. ---------- |

Are you suggesting *****ing the profanity filter? You should know that CCP's profanity filter is uncrackable! Er...
The funny thing about the profanity filter is that it's just a difference in how the text is rendered - you hit quote, and all the same "****, ****,*****, ass, *****, boner, *****, *****, butthole, Barbara Streisand!" is still there. It's not like profanity filtration has ever been especially logical, but that's a really odd hole in it. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

Edited by: Nexus Kinnon on 05/06/2008 16:33:05 edit; a configurable ingame swearing filter would nice, so that you could swear all you like in local and people could activate the word filter so that their virgin eyes are protected.

A configurable, toggle-able profanity filter would be jolly good fun. ****, it's ******* about ******* time that we can say **** **** **** and not offend the seven <18 year olds that play EVE.
Not that I have -ever- tempted the profanity filter here, or swore in-game. I'm innocent. O:D

This is a ****ing good idea. -------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously, we need some kind of separation between the post and signature. There you go. Now that wasn't so hard |

Yes please. The profanity filter on the forums is about the most worthless piece of crap I've ever seen (hmm, will it let me say that?).
I seem to recall that people were talking about a storeline event, and when using the name of one of the main NPCs involved (perhaps it was quoting the initial post made by the ISD controlled NPC, or it might even have been in the ISD post itself), part of it would be censored.
This really needs to be made into something we can turn off. ________________________________ This is not a signature. |

Agreed. **** political correctness.
Well, maybe one can censor "political correctness" because it is one of the worst concepts ever, including hypocrisy, ass-kissing, self-denial and euphemisation all in one?
Political correctness is the coffin nail of democracy and free speech.
NO TO POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. ---
