He'll still be screaming his insane tripe as an "expert" at any fox news article that wants a "videogames are Evil" soundbite, however.
Unless we all mobilise every time he appears and bomb the news studios/events he's at with statments of fact tto make sure veryone in the world knows he's an insane fraud.

Quote: the measure--if imposed--would prohibit Thompson from practicing law in the state of Florida for the next 10 years
Won't stop him from re-upping in another state (cept Alabama it seems)
Aside from that it's nice to see he's burning as many bridges as possible. Hey, lets insult the supreme court. Lets insult the former governor. Lets **** off as many people as we can.
Way to go Jack, your a real class act.
EDIT: he'll blame his desbarment on video games.

His disbarment ruins his creditability so its likely the likes of Fox News wont be requesting him to come back as a guest speaker any time soon.
Disbarment I would imagine is a pretty big red flag that surely is placed in some sort of record. Any state that he would apply to have a licence in would surely see this guy caused alot of grief for his courts and would have to be insane to give him a licence. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

If only it were that easy, the guy will be the new raving loony on the steps of the local court house. We wont get rid of him anytime soon, we just wont have to listen to some mad man with the powers of a lawyer at his disposal. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

Pretty much this.
Ask any attorney and they'll tell you applying to sit for the Bar exam is worse than the exam itself. Among other things you have to list EVERY brush with the legal system you have ever had (got a speeding ticket when you were 16...goes on list).
Something like being disbarred in one state will almost certainly make you completely ineligible to sit for the Bar in another state. Most states have some reciprocity such that if one state bar hates you they all hate you.
Of course if he had already been accepted to practice law in another state I suppose he could continue there but otherwise he is SOL (thankfully).

More like 'disembowelment', for the amount of crap he comes out with.
Well, with all the the free time he'll have on his hands, he could fire up a game of GTA IV.

It wouldn't surprise me if they raided his house one day and caught him playing that. He'd claim it was research or something I'm sure.

I predicted disbarment in two earlier threads about this worthless POS. Disbarment should be a nationaly recognized sentance. If you did something to dishonor the law in one state it should be recognized as an assult to our Constitution and thus be recognized by all 50 states.
I can not practice Athletic Training anywhere in the world if I do something that ends up in my Certification being revoked.

Slade, because he was disbarred in florida means his credibility is shot nationwide. He can try in another country but it's hard to get excited about taht

Yeah Fox news really cares about credibility: Bill O'Reiley anyone?
But anyways, disbar the bloke. While they are at it, maybe some real charges should be made and perhaps the tosser will go to jail and experience life as someone's...*cough* Who knows, rockstar could make a game out of it all.

Yeah I am not sure how the regulations work, but it sounds like he can still apply to practice in most other states. Boy I hope my interpretation is incorrect and all 50 states hold up the disbarment.

Didn't he commit forms of purgery? Jail time could be instituted, but I doubt the courts would do this since he is facing disbarment.
Ditto on O'Reiley!!!

Technically he could apply to sit for the Bar exam in another state.
In practice the states pretty much follow the American Bar Association's professional conduct rules which makes disbarment in one state enough to disbar you everywhere (or prevent you from applying to the Bar). My dad's an attorney and that is what he tells me anyway and I believe him.
Getting to sit for the Bar exam is not just a matter of paying a fee and having at it. It is a remarkably insane hill you have to climb. Our buddy here would never get an application through.

Even though it is nice to see Thompson put in his place I have a strong dislike for the BAR. It wields massive amounts of power, but it was never voted for and was never put into place by an elected official or even confirmed by one...

Don't forget the Sex Box fiasco. Their "video-game expert" wrote a "self-help" book urging teenage girls to partake in swinging and orgies. Who knows if she's ever even played a video game.
