Edited by: Constance Harme on 05/06/2008 23:02:00 Yeah as I understand it you can only build capitals in a low sec/0.0 POS. You'd think someone who can afford a Rorqual blueprint and the materials to build one would have known that or at least done some research.

It is one of those undocumented features everyone is just supposed to know I agree, it would be nice if the descriptions said something about there building requirements. As for a source of info, maybe try the eve-wiki project. Good luck building your first cap

Capitals can only be produced in low sec systems or 0.0 (in either npc stations/outposts with factory slots or POS with the correct arrays). There's no way around it.

Just thought it was odd is all, most people that have the capability to build them usually know these things. Anywho they can only be built in low sec and null sec space i.e 0.0 to 0.4 (I think its 0.4 but what do I know)

If you mouse over the production slots it'll tell you what it is able to build. It'll not include capitals.
But I agree, it should be better documented.

... AND jump freighters if I've got it right. Me and a buddy were just trying to figure all this out the other day.
AFAIK, here's the skinny:
-- Cap ships allowed in high sec -- Freighter Jump Freighter (T2 cap ship?)
-- Ships that use jump drives allowed in high sec -- Black Ops BS Jump Freighter
... and all of those can be produced in high sec? Yes or no?
Also as long as we're on the subject, here's what I have on jumping in and out of high sec:
No cynos in high sec so no jumping in. Black Ops can jump out of high sec to a low- or null- sec covert cyno (but it's a 'sploit if you're dodging Concord that way). Jump Freighters can jump out of high sec to a low- or null- sec cyno?
I'm nowhere near needing to know any of this yet, but I'm still curious. ___________________________________________

I think in short for capitals:
Highsec: Orca(When it comes) Freigter and Jump version.
Lowsec: Dreadnaught Carrier Rorqual
0.0 with Sov etc. (POS only) Mothership Titan Abstraction and Transcendence: Nature, Shintai, and Geometry |

You only need a POS to build supercapitals. You can build normal capital ships in NPC stations and Outposts, but yes - it's lowsec/0.0 only.
EDIT: Freighters and JFs in highsec as the poster above me noted (Who really considers those as capital ships, other than the manufacturers? :P)
You'd think someone who wants to be a douchebag and look smart in an internet spaceships forum would have known that or at least done some research.
