Does anyone know if the bits of jove ship have any current use? or if they will be able to be used any time soon for manufacture etc.

Dont know, but CCP has indicated that there will be some use for it later.

Managed to put one on a med slot, but all it does is 'squish' on activation.
I heard that with enough med slots and different 'squish' types, you can play a song to communicate with the Jove.
)

2 of my corp mates didn't recieve anything. Is is worth contacting someone to follow this up?

Did they check any other chars they have in their account.
Only one char per account got pieces of jovian.
