Always.
Though, I'm not a fan of the way they cut the 'war is coming' part of the trailer, but, time constraints I suppose. "It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt." - Mark Twain |

Damn, I was going to make a thread on this. Ah well.
I saw the trailer come on and did a double take. "Wait, that's EVE. But EVE doesn't advertise on the TV!"
That honestly made my entire evening, just watching the clip play. ___ Victory smiles upon those who anticipate the changes in the character of war, not upon those who wait to adapt themselves after they occur. ~Guilio Douhet |

Congrats on running the ad. I'm just surprised that it took them almost 4 years to see the value of advertising during BSG. I mean BSG has the perfect fan base for Eve. ------------------------------------

I agree, BSG is indeed the show that Eve should have advertising on. I'm sure CCP is crunching the numbers. Perhaps we will see more.
Give these newbs a chance, wait a week before you suicide them.

It played Friday May 30, Sunday June 1 and last night during BSG.
Expect to see it again on Sunday during the BSG rerun if you missed it (not 100% sure though).

To be honest im not sure if CCP would have gotten the most bang for their buck the past 4 years. Running a commercial on the sci fi channel, sure but during bsg? not really.
when watching BSG id want to get into a game that is a flight sim where you could be in your own viper frakin toasters all night long. Theres a huge difference between that and eve.
That should be changing with FW, gone will be the days that the best way to find a fight quickly is looking for a possible gate camp and flying into it knowing your going to die without a doubt. gone are the days where high sp was required to get in on the action. gone are the days of nothing but a sandbox with no story to it.
The biggest part of BSG that keeps me watching is the story and interaction between the characters. Eve has always been void of a real story past the introduction screen for character generation. Without a real story that evolves there is no chance for interacting with it. To me it was something that was a turn off as running missions against npcs didn't cut it. I came from an mmo where 3 empires were made up of the players and they fought for control but here in eve the empires are lifeless pictures and im caldari but im not. FW will bring that story to life and allow players to interact with it and if ccp does a good job it will allow players to change the outcome in a permanent way.
New players will beable to get into fights with other players not 2 months or 2 years from now but that day or within afew if they dont have a friend to float them some isk. that brings eve closer to something some BSG fans would want to play after watching an episode. space based spreadsheets dont equal BSG battles especially with a load of skilltraining the players cant do anything to affect.
To me, FW sounds like it stands to address the problems with the game for new and casual players of the game. 5 hours is to long to "play" in order to get a single kill. sure the kills are a rush but they can be so far and few thatyou start questioning why you play. If you play to shoot stuff then FW is going to give you a place to get a quick fix nonstop. That is something that will attract and keep new players as they get their pewpew on and interact with other players in a way you couldn't before and do something to shape the universe of eve all from the first week of playing.
Unfortunately its the last season of BSG and that limits CCP's window but at least its the perfect time for CCP to do such thanks to them giving us FW. Hopefully at the end of BSG we get a BSG series with young Adama as Husker,if you saw Razor you know what im talking about.
Oh an seriously guys,no talking about what happened in BSG without a week or two gap. I don't know if the guys outside the U.S. are on the same episode as we are. I would be ****ed if someone ruined thestory for me so i do my best to extend that courtesy to them. I remember one guy saying they were barely getting the 3rd season there as we were starting to get season 4 here.

Well I am glad to see some intelligent posters left on the forums, and no they shouldn't have adverted say 2-4yrs ago, but Trinity would have brought them during the beginning of season 3..purely an opinion...
I have to succeed the fact, that there will be some lag issues, but a game that has withstood the test of time, as EVE has, and keep improving with just Subs.. We love free expansions.. Will be around far longer than 'most' fantasy MMOs... EVE has succeded where so many space MMOs have failed..Allegiance, Earth and Beyond(blame EAs short attention span, and GREED!)..
You can tell this game is the 'love child' of its creators, and hardly ever think it will fall by the wayside like an afterthought..
You are having an experience of a lifetime.. hopefully pleasurable, ..OPINION..
We are not Geeks, we are spaceship pilots..
Of course, this could all backfire, if the wrong sort of player migrates over, but as some have said..
More Noobs to Kill..
